On the plus side, Hotel Bazzoni has a wonderful location, a very good view from the room balconies over Lake Como, and a terraced garden going up the hill with several swimming pools and bars. Included breakfast and a buffet supper which was good. The bar on the ground floor is also stunning. On the minus side, ***y things about the hotel are wanting. When we arrived, we were told it was fully booked and our reservation had been transferred to the sister (and much cheaper) hotel Britannia down the road. We were taken down to see it, but the room was dank and nasty, after a hard argument they agreed to reinstate us in Bazzoni. We were also chased on the final day to check out promptly - our Trip.com booking was for 11am check out but we got a call at 10.30 telling us this had been moved forward to 10am and we needed to check out promptly as they had ***y arrivals that day. The room also lacked water, coffee/tea-making facilities and slippers, and everything extra is chargable - including 5 EUR for an additional keycard (non-refundable...) and 2 EUR for a jug of water at supper. On balance, I would avoid this hotel in future - but if you chose it, come ready to argue for what you already paid for.

Nice and modern hotel in good location with great views over the Lago di Lugano. The staff was professional, experienced and super friendly. Breakfast was always good with plenty of choice. We'll definitely stay again at Grand Hotel Campione!

We enjoyed 5 great nights at the Hotel Bellavista, which is centrally located within easy walking distance from the ferries. The front desk staff were incredibly helping, as we were hiking in the area and need advice on transportation. We loved the terrace in the afternoons, watching the ferries and partaking in the best aperaol spritzes in Menaggio! The bar staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely hardworking. Everyone at the hotel was very professional and accommodating. Our room overlooking the lake, was large and well adorned. Hotel Bellavista is a gem in the lovely town of Menaggio!!

Over 5 stars for service! I would like to specially acknowledge Nipa who was so helpful and took great care of us during our stay in Varenna. I was sick and she worked with my wife to arrange an appointment with a doctor nearby. She walked with us to the clinic and helped to provide translation for me at the doctor. I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels before. Never have I ever seen someone go above and beyond to care for us. The management should be proud to have her be a part of their team. Also I would like to acknowledge Euness who was very helpful in taking care of us when the air conditioning had stopped working. Luca, Lavianna, and Nicolette at the front desk were also very kind and helpful. We had a memorable stay here at Hotel Villa Cipressi because of the stellar service we received. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Charming small hotel, very well located (a practical and healthy parking on site, 15min from Bellagio, by bus or car, 30min on ship), quiet, almost family while respecting the independence of each, managed by an effective team, The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable and very functional, with a beautiful view of the lake. It is not often that you find one of those true gems of a hotel. This is one of them. This is the hotel that you will tell people to stay in if they visit the lake Como area. The hotel is right on the lake. You should definitely choose a lake facing room. The scenery is breath taking. The hotel is in a quiet village away from the hectic and chaos of other towns around the lake. Argegno has plenty of excellent places to eat. Argegno is a quant village to explore. There is a ferry stop about 50 metres from the hotel. It is on the bus route. There is parking at the hotel. The rooms are very clean. If you are a four or five star hotel person, don’t let the three stars put you off. I think the three stars are only because there isn’t someone at the front desk during the night, you are given a key to get back into the hotel if you will be out after 10:30pm. This is an ‘oh wow!’ hotel.
