Bon emplacement de l’hotel proche de la gare, très pratique pour prendre le Shinkansen. Parking en face de l’hôtel grand et gratuit, non négligeable ! Chambre spacieuse mais vieillotte, pas vraiment moderne, on entend beaucoup le train passer. Personnel aimable.

The hotel over looks the flowing river that runs through Gero while also looking at the mountains. Its a great location to easily walk into the town and explore the small shops and offerings there. If you have a chance, definitely recommend booking the room with a private onsen. Sitting in the onsen with the cool breeze from the mountains that came through the window was a great way to start and end the day I was there. The public baths are nice as well and lots of space. Getting around the hotel can be a little tricky sometimes if you don't read/speak japanese, but the staff is very friendly to help navigate the way. I opted in for the breakfast and dinner options and was stuffed. Very great quality and local offerings from the meals and did not even need lunch in between. Great for couples, families and solo travelers.

The room was a little small, but it was a very comfortable stay overall. Free parking was provided just a short walk from the property, which was convenient. A simple self-service ochazuke was available for all guests, which was a warm and thoughtful touch. Shoes are not allowed inside the hotel, so everyone walks around barefoot or in socks. It felt a bit unusual at first, especially while waiting for the lift, but it also meant that no outside shoes were brought into the rooms, helping to keep the space clean and cosy.

Luxury hotel with spacious and comfortable room. Walk along the river bank during sunset was fantastic. Just 2 bus stops to the famous Gifu park. However, the location is more suitable for people driving cars. Not convinient to find resetaurants near by.

This has to be the best hotel to stay in Takayama for new travellers who have never been to Takayama. The hotel is just opposite the train and bus station. Its unique artitecture make it impossible to miss. The hotel is old as it’s built in 1990s but it’s cozy. The onsen is comfortable and the local breakfast is definitely value for money and good to include. I also love the room with the old school buttons conventionally located. Bed is comfortable and heater works. It’s also not hard to find food and sourvenir shops as they are just below and around the neighbourhood. You can easily access fast food like McDonald or head to old town for traditional food. I will suggest you visit the 2nd street located near McDonald and the supermarket there as things are much cheaper. Overall I love my stay in Washington Takayama as a new traveller to the town.

The hotel was really lovely! The service was amazing, and the staff were really kind and thoughtful. There's plenty of free drinks and snacks around (coffee/tea/yakult, ice cream, fermented rice drink, ramen) that you can take at set time periods. You can also rent yukatas for free. The dinner and breakfast were amazing and extremely filling. The staff also took time to explain the individual dishes to us! Highly recommend that you book in advance, because there aren't many food options around the hotel. The onsen (private/public) is also open for really long hours, so we could go late at night or early in the morning. The hotel isn't too close to the main Shirakawago village, but they offer a shuttle service to and from the village. Do check the schedule in advance in order not to miss the bus!

Hotel was excellent. Enjoyed our stay. Room was modern and comfortable. It has a little dining area where you can heat up food and coffee station. Location was great as long as you drive. it's a road station with everything you need.10min pleasant drive to Gujo centre and accessible to various ski resorts. Will book again.

Location is good, just opposiite JR Takayama & Nohi bus centre. The hotel is pretty old, still using key to access the room. You're required to leave your key at the reception whenever you leave the room and need to collect it when you're back. No coffee provided in the room. Upon check out, the front desk (a guy) said the hotel is unable to help me keep my luggage, which is pretty bad as i need to spent extra money to find coin locker. The family mart downstairs is also under renovation during my stay, hence I need to walk to the nearest 7-11 which is about 500m away. I spent 3nights here, breakfast is almost similar every morning, should have made same variations.

Location is in middle of nowhere. No nearby konbini or supermarket. Very small farm store next door. Bring your own food or eat at the very few local restaurants (most close early). Nice view from the lobby. Lobby heating was set too high. The room was too hot for my foreign blood, even after turning the temperature down. I'm on a your of all the Fairfield inn in Japan, and I wouldn't stay at this one again.

Exceptional accommodation and service! My husband and I purely enjoyed our time at Yunoshimakan. We had a room with private open air bath because of my tattoos (so public bath wasn’t an option), and it was 100% worth its price. Kaiseki dinner was excellent, the buildings are adorable, we couldn’t wish a better service. Before coming, I thought that more than 1 day at onsen is waste of time — and totally regret the hadn’t made a choice to stay for a longer time. My advice: order a taxi or ask for a transfer if you carry a suitcase. I am really sorry for my husband who needed to carry our luggage 300m upstairs.
