"The location is really nice and the public onsen with the beautiful view are fantastic! However, the room was pretty outdated and a bit smelly and could have been cleaner. We booked the more expensive room with the bath where they show the private onsen picture, but unfortunately, the private onsen needs to be booked separately and they will charge us additionally 3100 yen for 50 min. So be aware to select the cheaper room since it's exactly the same as the more expensive room."

Haha. Ancak, odada biraz daha fazla ilgi ve onarım gerektiren şeyler olduğu için şirketin biraz daha fazla personel alması gerekebilir. Bununla birlikte, odalar çok büyük! "Breakfast was better than dinner, but both were good. The onsen was good and clean, but I wish they provided towels at the onsen area and not having to bring our own. There were no face towels in the room. The room was old. The floor creaks. But the room was very clean. I did not smell smoke anywhere in the hotel, but it was a bit humid. The staff spoke English well. BONUS: In the game room, there is the old Pole Position car racing game and it works perfectly. Memories of my childhood. I loved this game.
The hotel price was excellent for the value.it is beside a beautiful long pedestrian bridge."

"This was my second visit to this large onsen hotel, and I noticed that the staff’s English has improved, which we really appreciated. We were especially thankful that they prepared our futons with two layers, thanks to that, we had no trouble sleeping on the tatami this time.
Our room was on the 11th floor, but unfortunately, there wasn’t much of a river view unless we stepped out onto the balcony and leaned over to look down. Instead, the view was of an old, closed-down, partially demolished hotel, which was a bit disappointing.
Their rooftop onsen offered a beautiful mountain view, which made up for it to some extent. However, there were no bathing amenities such as shampoo and conditioner available there. It seems like they expect guests to experience the onsen on the first and another floor for showering and washing up.
Their buffet offered a wide variety of food, but the steak was too tough, the sashimi felt soggy and the tempura wasn’t crispy at all"

An excellent place located close to JR Nikko train station (about a 5 minute walk).
"Гостевой дом находится рядом станциями и рядом с автобусными остановками- очень удобно и быстро добираться.
Хозяйка очень приветливая и добрая. Все нам рассказала и дала карты и посоветовала куда сходить и как добраться.
Фантастический завтрак, хотя на сайте написано - питание не предоставляется. Однако нас 3 раза покормили и это было просто невероятно!
Рядом есть магазины 7/12 и недалеко супермаркет.
Хозяйка давала нам большие зонтики при сильном дожде и маленькие-складные, если дождь планировался только к вечеру.
Очень все понравилось и хотели бы вернуться снова! Большое спасибо за теплый прием и заботу! Здоровья и всяческих благ хозяйке и ее мужу!

"4.5 stars! Property is older but extremely well maintained. The corner western/Japanese rooms are spacious with two western beds and tatami area, single japanese bath and shower area and separate toilet area, mini fridge, tv, sitting area overlooking the river and table with four chairs as well as a massage chair! Onsen area has both indoor and outdoor areas separate for men and women and a cold plunge as well as multiple hot baths. Minus half a star for low staffing in the store/cafe areas (often no staff member to be found when kakigori desired), no in house lunch option and overly fatty meat on the 3rd night dinner (breakfast and dinner were LARGE and BEAUTIFUL but perhaps heavy on the yuba. Also, shuttle to the train station is only at 10 and 11am and getting cabs is difficult. However, would overwhelmingly recommend Nikko Senhime Monogatari!"

"Location and hospitality from the staff are the stand outs for this hotel. 5 min walk from Tobu-Nikko station and just opposite JR Nikko station. Lots of dining options around so not to worry but the nearest convenience store is actually not that near. For my stay, it came with free breakfast every day though I only had it for one day because I wanted to try out other breakfast/ coffee places in Nikko. There’s onsen in the hotel, both indoor and outdoor so this is also a plus point. However, the hotel itself is a bit tired and desperately needs a renovation."

"The hotel is equipped with an open air parking block of around 15 spaces, which I assume it's first come
first serve basis. When we arrived on a monday night (Mid august) around 9pm to check in there was only one parking space left.
Check in -and out are done in a compartment next to the parking spaces, self serviced on a tablet with quite a few language options (english, chinese....).
Our room was spacious and even came equipped with a projector (poppin Alladin) which the kids enjoyed for watching movies.
There was a laundry machine inside the room, with laundry detergent provided, and drying rack.
Enough clean towels were provided for our family during the stay so we did not need to wash the towels.
However as there was no in room housekeeping service, the litter processing was done by ourselves (perhaps the only inconvenience we found in living in this motel)."

The free cocktail and coffee services in the lobby were nice, as well as the free drink bar (including one beer per person) near the entrance to the hot spring. The paid massage service was also good. The meals were decent, especially the grilled beef, which simply melted in my mouth. The restaurant staff welcomed us warmly and provided friendly service.
Cons: The variety of hot springs was lacking, and the view from the hot springs was almost blocked, which was disappointing. The lockers for valuables used combination dials, and foreign guests often didn’t know how to use them, locking their room keys inside and struggling to reopen them. This was a major inconvenience. They should switch to a key-and-wristband system like other onsen hotels.
The room itself felt like an old, once-grand mansion that had seen better days. The furniture had many scratches, and the surfaces were worn and peeling. It made me think it must have been impressive in the past. Still, the room was definitely more spacious compared to other hotels.

RRobS.First off, do not trust Google Maps for directions. The directions take you up the alley behind the hotel. The hotel opens on the main street (Hwy. 119 is what Maps indicates).
This is an absolutely great little hotel, well located, clean and everything about the hotel I noticed, well looked after. It has a small, functional onsen that I used.
I was in their hostel section, a single bed, capsule style. A little tough for a creaky, bad knees, old person like me but a great stay. They have a small, affordable breakfast buffet (Oriental-style) for purchase that is decent with a variety of different dishes. And they have a machine that dispenses excellent, fresh coffees and other beverages.
It is a 2-star hotel and I will give it a 5 star rating as a 2 star hotel. Very good little hotel.

The room was beautiful and very clean. My booking also included breakfast and dinner which were always outstanding, beautifully prepared and unique food items. They utilized farm to table dining and the women explained each item served. They provided and encouraged one to wear Kimonos’s /tabi socks / slippers during one’s stay at, “ Nikko Iwaiyado Juyan “. Which further contributed to the authentic Japanese vibe. Indoor and outdoor hot tubs were amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The hotel is nestled within mountains and the setting serene. Hotel is family owned and they take pride in caring for their guests.

BBenjaminsim87An extravagant Onsen Hotel experience. I came in Autumn in the depth of fall colours. Every night the wind in the trees lulled me to bed. The rooms with the private tub and terrace are awesome. Dinner and breakfast is luxurious too with a sampling of local Nikko delicacies like Yuba. A hotel for adults looking for calm and solace.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe exterior of the hotel is pretty, but the interior of the hotel is dated and needs a bit of updating. There were parts of the hotel that were completely shut down (maybe there are saving up enough money to one day renovate). However the facilities and rooms are well maintained and the onsens are beautiful and peaceful. There are 2 main onsens, that are separated by men and women. Each day the onsens are switched, in the morning you will go to one, and in the evening before dinner you can experience the other onsen. Onsite there is a really nice restaurant and gift shop that featured local products at reasonable prices. There is a 24 hour coffee/tea station that is free to use. It's a short 10 minute walk from Kinugawa Onsen Station. When you arrive they provide you a yukata to wear while you are staying at the hotel. The rooms are spacious with options for a western bed or japanese style (sleeping on the floor). We opted for the western bed to be higher off the ground as we thought it would be colder to sleep on the ground. Although the rooms are very well heated and was a bit too warm, that we needed to open the window to cool the room down. The rooms have nice views of the countryside. They provide a pitcher of ice water in the room and you can go to the front desk to refill with ice if more is needed. The bathroom is quite large and has both a shower and toilet in a separate room of the bathroom; although we mostly bathed in the onsen. There is a 7-eleven nearby that was open 24 hours, but otherwise there isn't much else around the hotel. Also the town of Kinugawa Onsen closes quite early, around 8pm it's quite deserted. We were there at the end of November 2024, and it seemed that the hotel was mostly unoccupied, so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was a very nice one night stay.

DDanny IwaIt’s our first time visiting Nikko. The hotel is quite a distance from Nikko station so walking is not an option (take bus 2A/2C) and stop at stop number 11. Then, walk 5mins upslope to the hotel.
The friendly receptionist spoke basic english. There were 2 smoking booths at floor 3&4. The onsen(both indoor and outdoor) was a nice experience. As there were few guest, I had the whole onsen all to myself. There was also 2 private onsens which you can book for 2000yen. Amenities were stocked up and I was impressed! Meals were included in the price, and dinner was an experience.
Everything closes early here in winter. We were allowed check in at 11am, and proceeded to Kanaya Hotel (500yen) and to Toshogu Shrine (1600yen). We walked around the picturesque town with so many beautiful photo spots!
If you’re catching the first train out of Nikko (7:37am), do note there is NO taxi service & breakfast starts at 730am so we had to forfeit breakfast. You have to walk out to the bus stop which comes earliest at 7:02am.
Overall, a good first experience in a ryokan.

MMisafir KullanıcıI don’t understand why someone would leave a negative review due to their own negligence. Trip.com clearly mentioned the additional 300-yen tax (I assume this is the onsen tax) per person, yet they still claimed they were “scammed.”
My overall experience at Hotel Euro City was wonderful. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the shuttle bus service was amazing. If you want to get to the hotel easily, check the shuttle schedule on the hotel’s homepage so you don’t have to walk from the station. They run it every day at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 15:15, 16:15, 17:15, and 18:15 from “Nikko Station Hotel Classic,” right next to JR Nikko Station.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the onsen in the backyard was great. It’s true that the room had a mild smell, but I assume it was due to recent pest control (it smelled like pesticide). Just open the windows for a while and it goes away.
Breakfast was okay—not as fancy as in the advertisements, maybe because it wasn’t peak season. Overall, I think this is a very good choice, especially if you’re traveling with family.

私のホテル・ユーロシティでの滞在はとても快適でした。スタッフの皆さんはとても親切で、シャトルバスのサービスも素晴らしかったです。駅から歩きたくない場合は、ホテルのホームページでシャトルバスの時刻を確認すると良いと思います。毎日、JR日光駅のすぐ隣にある「日光ステーションホテルクラシック」から 9:00／9:30／10:00／15:15／16:15／17:15／18:15 に運行しています。
部屋は広くて快適で、裏庭にある温泉もとても良かったです。確かに部屋には少し匂いがありましたが、おそらく害虫駆除をした後の匂い（殺虫剤のような匂い）だと思います。窓を開けてしばらく換気すればなくなります。
朝食は普通で、広告ほど豪華ではありませんでしたが、ハイシーズンではなかったためかもしれません。全体的に、特に家族連れの方にはとても良い選択だと思います。

小小八哥酒店位置除了開車的旅客，坐公交的就不太方便。訂的房間類型只有吸煙房，到達房間有很濃的煙味，很難受。餐食供應非常好，有驚喜。溫泉大浴池都不錯。這家旅館真的要提升衛生質素，地毯都是黑黑的，房間應該改為不能抽煙。但性價比很高，尤其是有Trip.com的優惠加持
