"Arriving at the train station, I found out the shuttle bus for the hotel wouldn't arrive for another 45 minutes, so we opted to walk there. It takes about half an hour but going uphill in the blazing sun was a bit torturous. The driveway is also very steep, so beware if you have a lot of baggage. Hotel has a wealth of history. It hosted a lot of famous guests in the early 20th century. Modern hotels are sterile in comparison. It's an old building, so is draughty and full of ancient furniture. This may be a turnoff for some but I found it completely charming."

"The location was quite good, although it is a bit far from the main U-Nikko Station. If you are looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay, I highly recommend it. However, keep in mind that the distance may increase your travel time, so you should plan for an extra hour in your itinerary."

"A premium hotel & hotspring in kinugagawa onsen,this hotel also is famous all over japan, because of superb hotspring creation made by a big rock,very new & romantic interior design especially in the lobby,w/ an luxurios chandelier,the outside view is amazing,the famous fureai bridge in kinugawa & river is in the front ,very nice autumn view outside,the room is big,but don't have a telephone & dresser,the food is superb but if you want to drink alcohol,you need to reserve from the front desk during check-in.Intagramable view inside & outside,but don't go here by walking with baggage because of the high stairs in fureai bridge,there's a shuttle bus but you need to pay 300yen.Overall,you can feel the scenic views even you don't go outside,Thanks always Trip.com for very nice booking,more power & God bless always"

"Très bon hostel, mieux que sur les photos. On a eu une chambres pour 4 personnes avec le toilette privatif, que la douche à partager. L’onsen est tres propre et contient deux bassin à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur. Deux lave-linges et deux sèche-linges sont à disposition avec le payement supplémentaire. Cuisine est grand et propre.
L’hôtel est loin d’activité principale de Nikko (Nikkō Tōshō-gū et un hike avec des cascades). Le système de train même si vous prenez Nikko pass à Tokyo n’est pas parfait car ça oblige de prendre des billets supplémentaires pour un train express, car n’inclut pas dans le pass."

"We had a lovely stay, experiencing aspects of Japanese culture - such as the food, Japanese room and the beautiful onsen. It was further away from the Nikko World Heritage Site than we realised when booking. However, we rather enjoyed the picturesque train ride there each day.

"酒店在溫泉中心街旁，雖然離鬼怒川溫泉站要走10分鐘左右，不過還是可以接受的。我們住在8樓，可以看見很漂亮的河景，雖然酒店有些年代了，不過空間很大，能感受到以往的輝煌。室外溫泉雖小，但對着鬼怒川，感覺很好。前台人員也很友好。值得一提的是它的自助晚餐，豐富極了，甚至還可以自製壽起燒！只是留了一晚，不過很舒適，只是房間廁所有些許尿騷味，其他都挺不錯。"

"Breakfast was better than dinner, but both were good. The onsen was good and clean, but I wish they provided towels at the onsen area and not having to bring our own. There were no face towels in the room. The room was old. The floor creaks. But the room was very clean. I did not smell smoke anywhere in the hotel, but it was a bit humid. The staff spoke English well. BONUS: In the game room, there is the old Pole Position car racing game and it works perfectly. Memories of my childhood. I loved this game.
The hotel price was excellent for the value.it is beside a beautiful long pedestrian bridge."

MMisafir KullanıcıI want to thank hosts of Akari no yado personally. The hosts were nice and worked really hard to feel ourselves at home. The place was clean and the common room was big and comfortable. Bathroom was old fashioned but if you want modern bathrooms you were able to use the bath house for showers and toilets in the common area. Breakfast is made of pastries and all I had was pretty delicious. You can also have marmalade and margarine with breakfast pastries and there are drinks (tea/coffee/milk/juice) to choose from. We checked out early and hosts prepared our breakfast to go even if it wasn’t breakfast time yet. They even drove us to the station when we asked if they would be able to call us a taxi!
Bath house was spacious with two different baths. System is easy and we were able to use it whenever we wanted (between 16.00-23.00 of course). They are giving free rental yukatas and they were so comfy. They also have guides everywhere to help you (our room even had a guide on how to prepare a futon bed!) the place felt like we were part of a family and that was the most amazing part for me. I even got teary eyed when it was time to go. Thank you Akari no yado! Hope to see you soon again!

Hotel onsen was very legit and nice especially when the night was cold. There is free sake and alcohol in the lounge. Breakfast was a delicious set meal with drinks available. Hotel is walkable distance to kegon falls. Would recommend :)

TthewandercuratorVery conveniently located opposite JR Nikko and 3 min walk away from Tobu Nikko stations and the buses for the area. Good-sized traditional room with dated bathroom. We got a rather dingy view of the carpark and buildings at the back (maybe our request of a bright, high floor room with nature view did not get through) and the staff were not able to accommodate our request to change, citing full capacity. A limited western oriented breakfast was included but could have more Japanese, fish and vegetarian options, as well as less stern reminders to make guests feel less intimidated and more welcomed. Our fav feature was the onsen and lounge with free drinks machine. We would stay here again, given a more accommodating atmosphere.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe exterior of the hotel is pretty, but the interior of the hotel is dated and needs a bit of updating. There were parts of the hotel that were completely shut down (maybe there are saving up enough money to one day renovate). However the facilities and rooms are well maintained and the onsens are beautiful and peaceful. There are 2 main onsens, that are separated by men and women. Each day the onsens are switched, in the morning you will go to one, and in the evening before dinner you can experience the other onsen. Onsite there is a really nice restaurant and gift shop that featured local products at reasonable prices. There is a 24 hour coffee/tea station that is free to use. It's a short 10 minute walk from Kinugawa Onsen Station. When you arrive they provide you a yukata to wear while you are staying at the hotel. The rooms are spacious with options for a western bed or japanese style (sleeping on the floor). We opted for the western bed to be higher off the ground as we thought it would be colder to sleep on the ground. Although the rooms are very well heated and was a bit too warm, that we needed to open the window to cool the room down. The rooms have nice views of the countryside. They provide a pitcher of ice water in the room and you can go to the front desk to refill with ice if more is needed. The bathroom is quite large and has both a shower and toilet in a separate room of the bathroom; although we mostly bathed in the onsen. There is a 7-eleven nearby that was open 24 hours, but otherwise there isn't much else around the hotel. Also the town of Kinugawa Onsen closes quite early, around 8pm it's quite deserted. We were there at the end of November 2024, and it seemed that the hotel was mostly unoccupied, so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was a very nice one night stay.

Die Hinfahrt ist alleine schon ein Jochen Schweitzer Erlebnis! Mit dem Zug von Kita Senju nach Kinugawaonsen (1,5h), dort in den Bus nach Meotobuchi (1,5h) und dann in den Onsen Shuttle (20min). Ohne Japanisch zu können vor Ort buchen, abenteuerlich! Klappte aber alles tadellos, auch dank der sehr hilfsbereiten Frauen in der Tourist-Info und welch eine wunderschöne Landschaft während den Fahrten!
Im Onsen angekommen wurde ganz gut Englisch gesprochen und alles ausführlich erklärt. Hier ganz wichtig für uns war: Tattoos sind von Haus aus toleriert, man solle allerdings auf die anderen Besucher Rücksicht nehmen. Heißt möglich dann baden wenn niemand anderes im Becken ist oder es mit einem Handtuch bedecken. Wir sind erst sehr spät ins große Gemeinschaftsbecken gegangen. Vorher waren wir nur in den kleinen Becken, dort wird man nicht sehr gesehen.
Das Abendessen ist ebenfalls sehr außergewöhnlich. Man muss sich als europäer darauf einlassen und für mich, der kein Fisch isst hat es ein wenig Überwindung gekostet. Trotzdem sowas erlebt man nur einmal, deswegen machen sie es mit!!
Wir fanden es super und würden jederzeit wieder kommen! Danke für die schöne Zeit!

TTsusiefirst of I would like to thanks always trip.com for very nice & convinient bookings everytime,we stay new sakura hotel,because the interior of the hotel is mostly sakura theme,the carpet,the gorgeous chandelier, the wall design,etc.or cherry blossom in Japan,& so very affordable prize,we spend only 18,000 yen for 2 adults,with 2 breakfast & 2 dinner.Very near from kinugawa onsen station,only 3 hrs.from Tokyo.We amazed the room,so very big for the two of us,for very cheap prize,can accomodate even 10 person,the buffet breakfast & dinner also is so good but the most I want to share is the drink all you can alcohol beverages for 1 hour,like beer,japanese wine,sours, all kinds of softhdrinks,I enjoyed for self service alcohol drink all you can!the hotspring also is very good but the cons is take care in the outdoor spring because of the concrete stairs,especially for the elderly when slippery,there's
& a little bit far from our room,the young staff also at the counter is nice & most of them are young japanese lady,so very entertaining,so many free amusement like billiard,majong,etc.with a nice sorrounding sightseeng site.& last after check out they give 2000 yen discount coupon for the next visit,Thanks God & trip.com for a nice autumn tour moment in kinugawa onsen Tochigi Perfecture Japan

MMisafir KullanıcıI don’t understand why someone would leave a negative review due to their own negligence. Trip.com clearly mentioned the additional 300-yen tax (I assume this is the onsen tax) per person, yet they still claimed they were “scammed.”
My overall experience at Hotel Euro City was wonderful. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the shuttle bus service was amazing. If you want to get to the hotel easily, check the shuttle schedule on the hotel’s homepage so you don’t have to walk from the station. They run it every day at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 15:15, 16:15, 17:15, and 18:15 from “Nikko Station Hotel Classic,” right next to JR Nikko Station.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the onsen in the backyard was great. It’s true that the room had a mild smell, but I assume it was due to recent pest control (it smelled like pesticide). Just open the windows for a while and it goes away.
Breakfast was okay—not as fancy as in the advertisements, maybe because it wasn’t peak season. Overall, I think this is a very good choice, especially if you’re traveling with family.
自分の不注意が原因なのに、なぜ悪いレビューを書くのか理解できません。Trip.com にはきちんと「1人あたり300円の追加税金（おそらく入湯税）」と明記されているのに、それでも「だまされた」と書く人がいます。
私のホテル・ユーロシティでの滞在はとても快適でした。スタッフの皆さんはとても親切で、シャトルバスのサービスも素晴らしかったです。駅から歩きたくない場合は、ホテルのホームページでシャトルバスの時刻を確認すると良いと思います。毎日、JR日光駅のすぐ隣にある「日光ステーションホテルクラシック」から 9:00／9:30／10:00／15:15／16:15／17:15／18:15 に運行しています。
部屋は広くて快適で、裏庭にある温泉もとても良かったです。確かに部屋には少し匂いがありましたが、おそらく害虫駆除をした後の匂い（殺虫剤のような匂い）だと思います。窓を開けてしばらく換気すればなくなります。
朝食は普通で、広告ほど豪華ではありませんでしたが、ハイシーズンではなかったためかもしれません。全体的に、特に家族連れの方にはとても良い選択だと思います。

小小八哥酒店位置除了開車的旅客，坐公交的就不太方便。訂的房間類型只有吸煙房，到達房間有很濃的煙味，很難受。餐食供應非常好，有驚喜。溫泉大浴池都不錯。這家旅館真的要提升衛生質素，地毯都是黑黑的，房間應該改為不能抽煙。但性價比很高，尤其是有Trip.com的優惠加持
