"Be careful, there is a hidden charge ”A $25 daily urban experience fee will be charged to each room” at this hotel Fairmont Chicago - Millennium Park. The breakfast charge is very tricky if you have prepaid. 1st you have to argue that you have prepaid for the breakfast for each person in the room. 2nd you need to ask and confirm with the front desk how much the credit is for the breakfast you have paid (my case $38 for each person daily, covers taxes and tips). It is not buffet breakfast, you need to pay extra when you check out if you have ordered more than your credit for the breakfast. When I asked that if I missed one breakfast, can I use the extra credit for the next day. The answers were different from different staff members. A very expensive hotel focusing on big conferences, there are no microwave oven, empty refrigerator (you can request) in the room and swimming pool. Do not lift up the drinks and snacks in the box on the table (there are sensors underneath) unless you don't mind to be charged. The existing refrigerator is full of drinks. I was afraid to touch it, even the concierge didn't know how to open the refrigerator lock. But the coffee and tea are free. There is a person (not housekeeper) comes to the room to check and refill all the drinks and snacks including the free ones. We booked our room many weeks earlier, after we checked in I realized that the room prices dropped comparing our original prices, maybe not enough conference people attending. "10 minute walk from wallgreens or a supermarket. Very good service and hot breakfast and easy to access shuttle. I highly recommend for a layover."

"Modern hotel near the lake and less than a 5minutes walk from Michigan Avenue. Staff was courteous and professional; the room was spacious and clean. Gym is new, clean, and with some amazing views from the windows overlooking the Chicago River. For those who like a fancy dinner, The Palm is an excellent choice within the same building. It’s a bit odd that I didn’t see a large room for the breakfast, but then, I did not have breakfast included so I didn’t really care. Overall, excellent hotel."
