More recently, here, on the site of an ancient building, one could see only 4 dilapidated walls that retained an unusually strong energy, grandeur and spirit of the aristocratic time. The answer to the question why the choice of the duchess fell on the outskirts of the city of Yaroslavl, deserted at that time, was found by touching history. It turns out that this place was not chosen by Ukhtomskaya by chance: the mansion was erected right in the center of the triangle, the tops of which were crowned by three cloisters of saints: the Church of the Kazan Mother of God, the now restored Assumption Cathedral, the Church of the Nativity and the Semyonovskaya Church on Red Square, which was demolished in 1933. A happy accident helped to return the undeservedly forgotten mansion to its former history, with its splendor and luxury. It became known about thanks to the search work, which was actively carried by Mikhail Khaltyan in order to restore the history of his family. His great-grandfather Halt, who lived during the Russian-Turkish war in Turkey, was familiar with Duchess Ukhtomskaya. History is silent about what kind of relationship connected Ukhtomskaya and Halt at that time, it is only known that a rich patroness bestowed on him the title of duke. Arriving in Yaroslavl, Mikhail Khaltyan found out about the existence of this historical place for his family and ensured that the mansion Ukhtomskoy was given the status of an architectural monument of the 19th century, which is now under the protection of UNESCO. During the restoration work provided by the excavations, an amazing thing was discovered, resembling a family coat of arms. On the fragment of the surviving artifact, the letter H is clearly visible - a message destined by fate to the descendants of Halt, calling not to let the history of the princely family disappear without a trace and dissolve in the past.
