I had an outstanding experience at Leonardo Hotel Plymouth. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional, making check-in smooth and stress-free. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with a comfortable bed and modern amenities that made my stay relaxing. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Plymouth, close to the waterfront and local attractions, which made exploring the city effortless. Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day. What truly stood out was the attention to detail and the genuine hospitality of the team. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. I highly recommend Leonardo Hotel Plymouth to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and exceptional service. I’ll definitely be returning!

I always try and book a pre Xmas stay somewhere, with my children . I came across Woodford Bridge on a booking site , and it seemed to offer great value for money so I thought why not. There are some positives and negatives which I ll list below. Arrived on a dark and gloomy Tues evening, the roads are not particularly great , potholes galore in the area. In the dark its quite scary roads too, in the middle of nowhere !! Check in was straightforward, nice friendly staff , however I found they have a tendency to talk amongst themselves and leave you waiting for too long before saying ” can I help you ”? Apartment was very clean , modern and warm. Incredibly happy with the size of it. Easy location to the games room for my boys, which they enjoyed very much, the pool table and table tennis. However the lighting is not great around the steps , and also the warning paint on edges of steps have worn off , so I had to be very careful walking back to apt in the dark. Used swimming facilities , nice , clean , quiet . The other facilities looked good . Went to the pub on site one night. Lovely little place , although totally devoid of atmosphere, hopefully better at weekend when live music on. They definitely need something. Prices of wine extortionate 175ml for 7.25 . I had to contact reception as the seal around the oven was coming off, did this in the morning before we went to atlantic village. On our return it was still hanging off, so had to contact reception again. Although I really liked the apt , there are a couple of improvements needed I feel. Firstly I could not find a chopping board or fish slice in the kitchen. As a single female with 2 children I also did nt feel safe as the apts can be accessed by anyone , there needs to be a key card reader on the entrance to the block , not just the apt door. Overall , it was a nice enough stay but I Don t think we d return. Probably much nicer in the Summer , and more going on in the area

This is very good for a 3-star hotel at the price charged, and the management has taken steps to rectify some of the problems mentioned in other reviews. My wife and I were in a standard twin room which has been recently refurbished. The room was simple but had new furniture, carpet and bathroom suite and was pleasantly decorated. The mattresses were comfortable. The buffet breakfast offered a good choice, but the sausages could have been of better quality. There was entertainment in the form of different solo vocalists every evening starting at 8.00pm. This was slanted toward an older clientele (centring mainly on coach parties), and many have limited appeal to younger customers. The bar prices were fairly average, with a 2 for 1 offer for the coach parties (not us). The big criticism many reviewers have of hotel internet has been addressed and there was good free internet in our room with a download speed in excess of 20 meg. There is no dedicated car park, but ample unresticted street parking all around the hotel, certainly at this time of the year. There is a rear hotel entrance adjacent to the coach car part that is only about 300 metres from the seas frong. The Babbacombe cliff railway is only a futher 100 metres away. Also close to this rear entrance is a Tesco Express. There are several restaurants and pubs within walking distance, as is Plainmoor, the home of Torquay United. We felt that the downsides were minor but some customers may miss having a room fridge or in room safe, and as mentioned the breakfast could be improved with quality sausages and grilled rather than tinned tomatoes. One oddity in our room was that a mains power outlet next to the tea/coffee tray had had a blanking plate fitted, when a 13 amp socket would have made it possible to use the kettle in that position (looks like a very easy fix if management read this).

29/04/2025. We have been to the cliffden hotel three times and had a club room on the first floor they were nice large rooms but this time we were on the second floor our room was very small and claustrophobic nothing like the photos in the booking . We asked for a different room and the man at reception said see me tomorrow morning and if there's a larger room you can have it. Later on in the day my partner went to reception to book a table for an evening meal for us. While she was booking the table the lady at the reception said there were no other rooms you can have. The barman was very polite nice to chat to. We only had one meal in the evening cod and chips could not find much cod it was all batter. Other meal gammon and chips gammon would be good to repair your soles on your shoes. Go to the local chip shop absolutely beautiful. We used the indoor swimming pool which was nice and clean. The gardens are lovely, and the beer is very expensive. Go to the jolly sailor pub with drinks at good prices. Reception is not very helpful. I can't understand why the hotel puts people with dogs on the second floor because when the dog wants to go to the toilet by the time you get down to the entrance the dog has already peed on the carpets. Luckily our dog can hold her pee and she is small enough to carry.I have followed other people with their dogs and seen it. Overall we were very disappointed with our stay this time.

The hotel itself was nice; can’t fault it. Our room however, had a weird, stale smell and was off-putting, with no way to ventilate the room by opening the windows, as you cannot open them - A/C is not a natural ventilation. Bed was comfortable, slept perfectly fine, just not nice waking up with the smell, as mentioned before. Breakfast was good, although I’ve had better.

I am a frequent returning guest. The hotel is situated at bottom end of Totnes main street. It is a busy hotel and bar, serving food. The building is old with one central staircase leading to rooms. All the rooms I have occupied are very clean, decorated in a tasteful way and the beds are comfortable.. Teas are good quality Tea Pigs a small coffee machine is also provided, plus a bottle of water. I am a coeliac and vegetarian. Eating in other hotels is almost impossible,they simply do not cater for my dietary requirements,thankfully I am guaranteed a delicious breakfast here. One of the most important reasons for returning here is the customer service. The staff here are really approachable and friendly. Any issue you may have regarding your stay, they will do their best to help you resolve. T have stayed in other hotels etc if there aren't any vacancies here but from my experience if you like a relaxed friendly environment, lovely rooms, location Totnes as a base, then this is the place to come . It is also a short walk away from the most beautiful cinema I've ever been in, which is tucked away, along the main high street, My only wish is that more free parking was available . The hotel offers capacity for approx 6 cars at the rear of the hotel. There is plenty of paid parking in main street and nearby Morrisons.

Only stoped the night great customer service from the staff the hotel is nice and clean and the room had shower and bath and the double bed was really comfy tea and coffee facilities in the room excellent stay

Lots of not great reviews out there but I found the hotel nice. The hotel is well placed, clean and staff are courteous. We stayed in a family room (316) and were very happy. It was spacious and clean and even had a separate connecting room should you have needed it. Wifi was very good allowing me to stream Netflix. Breakfast was good, self-service with a nice selection of hot and cold. Two rows of hot food so that you didn't have to wait for a replenishment. Bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, hashbrowns, beans and tomatoes. Continental - toast, mini-croissants, yoghurt, fruit compote, good selection of cereals. Breakfast is £10 adult and £7.95 for kids. I thought it was a little pricey for my 5 year old who only had a slice of toast and a bowl of cereal. It would be nice for them to offer a free breakfast for under 5's with a paying adult. Downside - management really need to update the reception toilets - the peeling plaster and movement sensitive lights at the end of the dark corridor are slightly reminiscent of a Steven King novel) No parking, but there is plenty near by and that is to be expected in a central hotel right by the shops/restaurants. I would recommend it.

The hotel and area was fantastic, however, service at the front desk and the restaurant was lacking. We took a long weekend break and were excited to try the beach club, however our experience was dampened by the service. Being made to stand around for 5 minutes, whilst being told we hadn't paid (when we had) was unnecessary and frankly embarrassing. The restaurant was the most disappointing part of the stay. I'm the evening service was slow, followed by having our order wrong twice and also dropped. Breakfast at the restaurant was lacking compared to cheaper hotels that offer continental. Small selection , nothing outstanding. When we ordered a cooked breakfast, it took 30-40 minutes to receive some eggs and pancakes although the restaurant was fairly quiet. However, the room, facilities, and the spa were fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The beach club outside was gorgeous. The spa was perfect and treatments were, to quote my partner, 'one of the best massages of my life'. We're unsure if we would come back. Although the facilities were great, the service was mostly subpar and not what we'd expect from a harbour hotel.

We booked our stay back in September and arrived yesterday just before 2pm. We were told our rooms wouldn’t be ready until 2pm, which was fine, but when we asked if we could leave our luggage, we were informed it would cost £5 per room to store it. At 2.25pm we returned to check in, only to be told again that the rooms still weren’t ready—yet suddenly we were offered luggage storage for free. Another receptionist then mentioned that one of our rooms was available, so we were able to leave all our bags there, which we appreciated. As for the room itself: the carpet was heavily stained, and both the beds and the flooring were very creaky. The bathroom, however, was spotless. On day two, we raised our concerns with the reception manager, who allowed us to store our bags free of charge. While this was helpful, the overall experience didn’t give us a great first impression of the hotel.
