Stayed 2 nights, front desk staffs are very helpful. Our room view over looking the harbour that’s beautiful. The issues we had was the first night we wanted dine in the hotel the Buffet restaurant was full, then the 2nd floor Japanese restaurants also full. We booked 2nd night dinner at buffet restaurant. We were told it’s full can only have it at 8pm. Guess what, when we arrive at the restaurant at 8pm. that’s not much food left no refill. My recommendation staying at the hotel is good but better not dine in the buffet restaurant for dinner.
Brilliant hotel on the doorstep of Konpira Yama. Onsen was great, they have a variety of public/private baths and private is almost always available. Food was also a highlight for us, a very traditional Japanese course style dinner that was complimentary to a good bath! Last to mention is it’s late night noodles, a simple broth yet packed with flavour!
Hard to truly review this property as we checked in but didn't stay. We were under the impression that we had booked the Hotel rather than the Inn - it can be confusing as they have nearly identical names. Judging by the lobby and location of the Inn, we did not feel that it was up to our standards. Thus, we immediately checked out and booked the Hotel instead for our stay. Unfortunately, at the point our prepayment was non-refundable. This was ultimately our fault, but please be advised to make sure that you would like to stay at the Inn (a more business stay lodging) rather than the Hotel (a more traditional full service lodging).
It's at a good location, very near to Kawaramachi station. About 1.5km walk to Takamatsu station. It's near the area where all the izakayas are. The bed is clean, however I find the shower is not so clean comparing to the Japanese standard. Kitchen is a little small for accomodating so many people. I love that they have self-service laundry and dryer all in one, which I find myself using it a lot! Not to mention, the common space in 2nd floor is spacious.
Hotel is dated, but well maintained and very clean. Room is of decent size for what we are paying. Can’t say it is spacious. Location is a good 10 to 15min walk to the Takamatsu port depending on your pace.
Breakfast is a little disappointing with very limited proteins. Western choices also very limited. Paid extra if you don’t pre-booked a day ahead.
The hotel is about 20~25 mins walk away from the JR rail station. The facility is on average. Room is small but is fully equipped. I am traveling with my wife and the double bed is small even for our Asian sizes. Breakfast needs a lot of improvement. We stayed at Dormy Inns at other locations and have much more varieties and choices than this one at Takamatsu . Putting another set of pillows in the room will be welcomed by most guests.
HOTEL DAITOUKYOU'da konakladığınızda, Takamatsu'nin sunduğu her şeyi keşfetmek için mükemmel bir konumda olacaksınız.
Tesiste ücretsiz tutarında otopark mevcuttur.
The experience was good enough the hotel and the food wasn’t too bad. The hot spring on the top floor is an absolute delight and we didn’t stay in the room much we were almost out, so it was just a place for us to rest our feet and get a good night sleep and that just did the trick. Everything was fine hotel staff were good. Everything was great.

KKeith077852Absolutely beautiful hotel. The mountains around are so nice. Both the staff and the hotel services are top class. A must-go place for a good rest.
DDNFSYMToyoko Inn is my favorite chain to stay when in Japan! This particular one was clean, convenient and awesome! They had night time supper -Udon. The breakfast area can get a little bit busy. Thanks for a nice stay!
DDaily happyDuring my recent trip to Japan, I had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that also serves as a wedding venue — and from the moment I arrived, the level of service was simply impeccable. The staff were not only gracious and professional, but also went out of their way to assist me at every turn, despite my lack of Japanese language skills. Their warm hospitality left a lasting impression and made me feel truly welcomed and cared for.
Though the room was compact, it was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully arranged. As a solo traveler, I found the space more than sufficient — cozy, comfortable, and a fantastic value for the price. It truly struck the perfect balance between affordability and quality.
A special mention goes to the amenities: the hotel provides a well-stocked amenity station at the reception, where guests can freely pick up whatever they need — a detail that reflects the hotel’s attention to guest convenience.
While the location is a little removed from the city center, this wasn’t an issue at all for me, as I had a rental car. The added bonus? Free parking on-site, which made my stay even more convenient and budget-friendly.
Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in so many ways. With its blend of elegant ambiance, exceptional service, and thoughtful touches, it became a peaceful and comfortable base for my journey — one I would gladly return to and wholeheartedly recommend to fellow travelers.
Aaleu aleuThe staff of Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel are professional and considerable. Their service are excellent, especially
1) The shuttle bus driver (morning shift strong man, forgot asking his name). When we arrived at Shodoshima Ferry Pier at 11:00am on April 7, we found a hotel shuttle bus, but not sure if it's the one of our staying hotel. We asked the driver if it's the one that waiting to pick us up. He said yes, but the hotel check-in time should be 3:00pm in the afternoon. He suggested us to have the sightseeing first and helped register the afternoon time for picking us instead. Also, he suggested taking our hand carry bags to the hotel front desk to avoid we carrying too heavy bags while travelling.
2) The lady staff (sorry for forgetting her name) at the lobby hall, who was very proactive. She came over immediately to help taking photos for us when she found we're taking a selfie. She also served us with free drinks for enjoying the sunset at the hall.
3) The staff at the reception desk are very professional. They helped us for check-in, explained the details of the time for meals, and provided all the information required.
4) The foods for dinner & breakfast buffet are very nice and yummy. The restaurant is clean and tidy.
Overall, Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel is a very professional and comfortable accommodation for stay. We're pleased and feel glad choosing this hotel.
MMisafir KullanıcıHotel staff at reception desk is super helpful and very patient to assist customer.
Room is super clean and breakfast is nice.
We stayed this hotel for 4 nights for a golf trip. During our stay, there were a couple issues we have with car rental companies. Staff was very kind to help in local languange conversation with call center and local police individuals to effectively get thing done. I cannot image how long it will take for us to communicate with non-Japanese lauguage... Good job Route Inn hotel.
AAnonim KullanıcıWe have stayed in many Daiwa Roynet Hotels in Japan, and we’ve trusted the Daiwa Roynet brand very much. However, the Takamatsu property is the worst we’ve experienced so far, and after this stay we will be more cautious about choosing to stay at Daiwa Roynet in the future.
The facilities are very old and urgently need refurbishment. The cleanliness of our room was also quite shocking. There was hair in the bathroom and bathtub, and hair on the pajamas they provided, as shown in the photo. There were stains throughout the room as well. The bedding used is also smaller than the bed as shown in the picture.
If you’re planning day trips to the islands, the hotel isn’t very close to the port. There are plenty of shops nearby, though, so the overall location is ok.
MMisafir KullanıcıThe hotel is about 20~25 mins walk away from the JR rail station. The facility is on average. Room is small but is fully equipped. MMisafir KullanıcıPlace is convenient to all the different shopping streets in Takamatsu. It's quite a distance away from the pier for walking, but there are many different bus services available so it's at max a 16 minutes away from main station and there is a bus stop point right in front of the hotel. Hotel feels relatively new, the standard double room is small but comfortable. Recommended!
