Hotel Solar BOM Jesus was the perfect home base for my adventures in Madeira! 🏞️ The location is unbeatable - just steps from the iconic BOM Jesus church and a short walk to the lively town center. My single room was cozy and spotlessly clean. 🛀 The staff went above and beyond, always greeting me with a smile and quick to provide recommendations. The basic but well-appointed facilities had everything I needed. I'd happily stay here again on my next trip! 👍

I booked this hotel as part of our week long trip in Madeira due to its proximity to the airport. The location was perfect and the hotel was spotless with an amazing hot shower. The small town where the hotel is located has plenty of little cute bars and restuarants too.
Big shout out to the guy who was working doing the Karaoke during our stay - he was providing top entertainment in multiple languages and I loved it!

The hotel is in a good location and the sea view room which we reserved had a nice view of ocean. But, I need to mention that this hotel is not a 4 star hotel. The whole building is old and they kept it in an old fashion way. The bath is not good, they don't offer even water in daily service and neither tea. (which is expected from a four star hotel)
The elevator is old and always full, really not suitable for an eleven floor building.

Este hotel está muy lejos de las 4 estrellas que presenta. Quizás hace 20 años le correspondían, pero a día de hoy presenta las instalaciones antiguas, la habitación estaba limpia pero muy desgastada. Incluso la tarima del suelo, hasta los azulejos del baño desgastados.

O Porto Santo Hotel & Spa é uma escolha excelente para quem procura descanso e tranquilidade. Apesar de ser um hotel modesto, é extremamente confortável e acolhedor. Destaco especialmente a simpatia e disponibilidade do staff, que torna a experiência ainda mais agradável. E o bar de praia? Simplesmente espetacular — perfeito para aproveitar o pôr do sol com uma bebida na mão. Recomendo!

Room is spacious with balcony. Outside the hotel, there are public buses going to Funchal center. It's also located in the shopping area with restaurants and supermarkets. You can sit at rooftop to have a sea view. Breakfast buffet is good. Airport is less than half hour on taxi.

Nous sommes arrivés vers 1h00 du matin et avons été très bien accueillis. Le réceptionniste nous a conduits à notre chambre avec le sourire. Dans la chambre, une bouteille d'eau, du café et du thé sont à disposition gratuitement.
Le jardin est très bien entretenu, le personnel du restaurant est très agréable.
Le parking est facilement accessible.

Piscine chauffée formidable ainsi que le hammam, le sauna et le jacuzzi !!
Tout était parfait pour un séjour idéal, restaurants à proximité ou bien même celui de l'hôtel.
Et chambre évidemment magnifique !!!

Excelente localização na calheta, mesmo em cima de uma praia de areia dourada, com acesso direto do hotel. Ideal ter carro pois fica a 30min do Funchal.
Vale a pena pagar extra para ter quarto com vista de mar
A qualidade e quantidade da comida cumpre com o tudo incluído, assim como as bebidas.
Animação diária e variada.
Bom spa com piscina aquecida, turco, sauna e duches frios.
Zona da piscina exterior muito agradável, com bastantes espreguiçadeiras e bem conseguida.
Ping Pong gratuito, bilhar pago (€3/hora).
Muito boa relação preço/qualidade.

EElias KletterОтличный большой отель. Много немецких пенсионеров. Очень хорошее местоположение - на берегу океана, рядом большой торговый центр Форум и пляж Формоза. На 1 или 2 автобусе дорога до центра Фуншала занимает 12 минут.
Завтраки очень разнообразные, но очереди за кофе после 8 утра. Проходят на этаже с потрясающим видом на океан, можно сидеть на улице.
Не понравились бассейны - с красивым видом, но неглубокие, везде воды по пояс. Только для детей. Кондиционер работает только на охлаждение - в номере было холодно.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe dining room -I was there for the breakfast- is an old one, not so inviting. The breakfast-selection is not so good, as a vegan or vegetarian you can't choose much (only beans & bread), the coffee is okay but not tasty, the juices are not fresh & sugary.
There is no big pot for cooking, for two persons it would be good to have one.
The bed is good, the fan does its job, the bathroom is big enough, the balcony practical.
The location is near to the busline, 30min to walk to the center & there is the Lido promenade (with some places to swim) to the next small city with a small light tunnel for pedestrians, there you can hear/see the surf :)
The opening times for the pool are too late in the morning and too short (8.00-20.00).
The female staff at the reception with the glasses (saturday evening), didn't manage my wake-up-call for the next morning (the staff at this day showed me that he had no notice for a call), thats not a good one, because sometimes you have to depend on it.

Wouldn’t be as big of an issue but there’s also very little mobile network connection, therefore use of Data was ever limited..
Breakfast - is okay, you could tell a lot of items are stored and reused days later (pastries, fresh fruits)
Pool is okay but sunbeds are uncomfortable and you can’t get a towel in morning (10am…)
Hotel management could easily make this in a 5* property with just basic additional amenities and being less greedy with add ons..
Overall for a supposedly 4 star hotel it’s more like 3.
However
Staff are quite nice and helpful
Rooms are crazy spacious (probably double what average same price hotel will get you in Portugal)
Location is good, a little further from city center (about 75min walk) but in front of a nice empty black sand beach

NNia TravelsA beautiful beachfront hotel that is perfect for romantic getaways and a cheaper alternative, yet still luxury, to standard 5 star hotels. Location wise the hotel isn’t great as it’s very remote from the strip/city centre and taxi prices are not particularly cheap in Madeira. The rooms are spacious and stunning, well worth it with a great selection for the breakfast buffet and plenty of restaurants/options for dinner. A lovely love band/musician plays every night which is also great. Overall a wonderful stay with much friendly staff, however if you are looking to do much sightseeing in Madeira, this hotel is not the best option unless a significant amount is left for travel.

MMisafir KullanıcıLocation was good as is just a 10 min walk to downtown. As a frequent traveler, I don't consider the hotel 5-star rated hotel. It's ok for a 4-star, but not 5. Doesn't meet a 5-star standard in several things. For example, if you are driving, parking is a little bit an hassle as you have to change from one building to another. Breakfast was good but not 5-star breakfast. Lack of warm breakfast dishes and pastries. Windows in the room not sound proof. Woke up severals times during night time as you could hear the noise from the Garbage truck. When you take a shower, leaks water towards the hand sink area. Pillows, not match a 5-star standard either. Was ok, but not great!
