My experience at Rhiga Royal Hotel was deeply disappointing. At hotels, I encountered many staffs (almost all) who appeared indifferent, cold, and emotionally detached. There were no smiles, no warmth, and no sense of welcome—only rigid, mechanical interactions. Despite paying a high price for accommodation, I felt like an inconvenience rather than a valued guest.
Japan was once famous worldwide for its exceptional service culture and gracious hospitality. Based on my recent experience, that reputation no longer holds true. What remains is efficiency without kindness, politeness without sincerity, and service stripped of human warmth.
This was not just disappointing—it was disheartening.
The hotel appears to be quite old and poorly maintained. The condition of the room shows clear signs of long-term wear and neglect. As shown in the photo, the door frame and lock area are visibly damaged, with peeling paint, cracked surfaces, and poorly repaired sections. This is not a minor cosmetic issue but a sign of aging infrastructure that has not been properly renovated. The overall atmosphere feels tired and neglected, and the property would greatly benefit from serious renovation and refurbishment.
Suitable for those driving. Spacious hotel up on a hill. The common area looks modern but the rooms look abit dated. My teens appreciated the ”retro look” ..the ocean view compensates for the rooms. What we all enjoyed as a family was the onsen & evening bar & snack sessions. There were also some family activities,so it'll be suitable for kids. Perhaps summer might be more things to do. Free parking definitely a plus too.
I recently stayed at Rhino Hotel in Kyoto, and it was a pleasant experience overall! The hotel is conveniently located near Saiin Station, making it easy to explore the city. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with modern amenities. I particularly appreciated the comfortable bed and the quiet ambiance, which made for a restful stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful, providing excellent service throughout my visit. I also enjoyed the complimentary access to the fitness center and pool, which was a nice bonus.
However, the decor felt slightly dated, and the breakfast options could have been more varied. Despite these minor points, I would highly recommend Rhino Hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and reasonably priced stay in Kyoto

Good location, staff are friends. Easy to find and close to everywhere we go. We stay for our whole trip at this location. Will definitely coming back for next trips.

Yeni otel. Tamam. Oda geniş ve rahattı. Metro girişine çok yakın, sadece 3 dakika yürüme mesafesinde. Kyoto İstasyonu'ndan Uzumaki metro hattını kullanarak Tozai hattına aktarma yapabilirsiniz. Honnoji Tapınağı'nın karşısında.
We had an amazing stay at Westin Miyako, the staff is very pilote and helpfull, the room was spacious and the view was very nice. There is family mart located on site. We used the pool twice and it was very well maintained - the water temperature is perfect. I strongly recommend if travelling with kids as allows to relax after a busy day.
Could have give it 5stars if the bathroom is clean and not smell urine so bad. Others than that breakfast was awesome, Customer service was top not, location is perfect to go everywhere. Also they said they have bus service every 15 minutes to Kyoto station which is not true, we waited forever 1.5 hours or so, but they never came. We saw others hotel busses came by several times. I didn’t confront this to the front desk tho. We was taxi everywhere and it was cheap, furthest would be 20 minutes taxi drive and about 3,000 yen which is reasonable.
Путешествие в данный Рёкан оказалось невероятно комфортным и аутентичным. Невероятный отзывчивый персонал, всегда придут на помощь, подскажут и направят. Отлично говорят по-английски, так что проблем с коммуникацией не возникло. Невероятная чистота. Онсен - выше всяких похвал, 45-минутная сессия исключительно для одного (в моем случае, в других - для гостей номеров). Словно побывал у бабушки в деревне. Кайсеки - просто закачаешься, после него будешь воротить нос от любых ”суши”. Очень понравилось, 13/10

MM370779****Kyoto'daki Ritz-Carlton, Osaka'daki Ritz-Carlton'dan çok daha az maliyet etkindir. Hem iki kat pahalı hem de Japon ve Amerikan kahvaltıları o kadar da iyi değil. Ancak udon eriştesi veya meyve tabağı için özel istekte bulunabilirsiniz. Servis hala çok coşkulu. Otel Kamogawa Nehri kıyısında yer alıyor ve nehir boyunca yürüyüş yapmak oldukça konforlu. Ayrıca gündüzleri Nishiki Pazarı'na, geceleri ise Pontocho'ya yürüyerek gidip yemek ve alışveriş yapmak da güzel bir deneyim olacaktır. Eğer alışverişten sıkıldıysanız, otelinizin spa'sından faydalanabilirsiniz ancak oldukça pahalı olduğundan önceden randevu almayı unutmayın.
