The Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen, belongs firmly and unequivocally in the latter category. From the moment I stepped into its soaring lobby, I knew this would be one of those stays that redefines what luxury hospitality means. Arrival and Reception First impressions matter, and the reception team at the Mandarin Oriental understands this with an almost intuitive grace. Jason Zhu greeted me with the kind of warmth that felt less like a rehearsed welcome and more like being received by an old friend who just happens to have impeccable professional instincts. His attention to detail was extraordinary — he had noted my preferences before I could voice them, and the check-in process was so seamless it barely registered as a process at all. Sicily and Marsh were equally outstanding, always present at just the right moments with a smile, a helpful suggestion, or a thoughtful gesture. Together, the three of them set a tone of effortless elegance that carried through every hour of my stay. In a city as fast-paced and forward-looking as Shenzhen, there is something deeply reassuring about a reception team that makes you feel as though time has slowed down just for you. The Club Skyline View Room If the lobby whispered luxury, the Club Skyline View Room declared it in full voice. Perched high above the glittering sprawl of Shenzhen, the room offered a panorama that genuinely stopped me in my tracks. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the city's dazzling skyline — a forest of illuminated towers stretching toward the horizon, the lights of Futian and beyond shimmering like an earthbound constellation. I found myself drawn to the window repeatedly, at golden hour, at twilight, and again in the deep hours of the night, each time discovering a different mood and a different kind of beauty. The room itself was a masterclass in refined design. The palette was calm and sophisticated, with rich textures and thoughtful layering that felt contemporary yet timeless in the way the Mandarin Oriental has always done best. The bed was, simply put, superb — the kind of bed that makes you reconsider every mattress you have ever slept on and find them all wanting. Linens were crisp and impossibly soft. The bathroom was a sanctuary of marble and glass, generously appointed with the brand's signature amenities, and the soaking tub positioned near the window offered what might be one of the finest bathing experiences in southern China. Every detail, from the lighting controls to the turndown service to the quiet hum of climate perfection, spoke of a property that understands the difference between filling a room with expensive things and creating a genuine sense of place and comfort. The Mandarin Club Accessing the Mandarin Club elevated an already exceptional stay into something truly rarefied. The lounge itself is a beautifully curated space — serene, sophisticated, and blessed with those same sweeping skyline views that make this property so special. But what transforms the Club from a lovely room with good canapés into a genuinely memorable experience is its people. Chelsea Zhou is a revelation and deserves a special mention. Her hospitality instincts are pitch-perfect; she anticipated needs I hadn't yet articulated, and managed to be attentive without ever being intrusive — a balance that even the finest hotels in the world struggle to achieve. Priscilla Pang was equally impressive, radiating a genuine kindness and professionalism that made every interaction a pleasure. Whether it was the afternoon tea service, or the evening menu and cocktails, Chelsea and Priscilla ensured that every moment in the Club felt personal, polished, and quietly luxurious. I returned to the lounge far more often than I had planned, not just for the excellent food and drink,

I stayed at Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou for one night and overall had a pleasant experience. The room was spacious, clean and beautifully designed, although the TV size and limited channel selection could be improved. I also received a complimentary room upgrade, which I appreciated, but the room was quite close to the tunnel, so some noise could still be heard at night. The staff were detailed, friendly and very helpful throughout my stay. During checkout, the front desk even checked on my staying experience and noted down my feedback in their system for future stays, which I found thoughtful. The location is excellent, directly connected to Taikoo Hui and the MRT station, which made getting around very convenient. One downside was the spa voucher included in my stay package. Due to my tight schedule, I wasn’t able to use it, so I requested to exchange it for breakfast instead, but the hotel was unable to accommodate the request. It would be great if the voucher usage could be more flexible in the future. Overall, a comfortable stay with great service and convenience, with just a few points that could be improved.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel during the festive season. The hotel was beautifully decorated with warm and cheerful New Year decorations, creating a cozy and joyful atmosphere everywhere. What made my stay truly perfect was the excellent service from Kiki. She was so kind, thoughtful, and attentive to every detail. She greeted me warmly, helped me check in smoothly, and always responded quickly to my needs with a lovely smile. The room was clean and comfortable, and the whole environment was pleasant. I highly recommend this hotel. Thanks to Kiki for making my trip so enjoyable and memorable!

We were so impressed of almost everything about this stay. I will recommend to my friends, and the my relatives to come and pay a visit. This package of a new renovated room plus Club Lounge access both are amazing.  Food is great. Service is amazing. The view is epic.  The room is built and designed well.  Gym room is big.  Especially our highlight is the customer service, my wife and I wanna point out the staff that serving us (入住服務大使) Mandy is very kind and helpful to us. Delight our stay. Also other staffs that served/helped us are very polite and kind. (Front desk: Perry etc.)  We couldn’t ask for more. Coz this is more than our expectation. I will recommend you to choose this.

Choosing Chimelong Hengqin Bay Hotel was the best decision. Every service staff we encountered greeted us with smiles ans patience. The room was spacious and bright, with soft and comfortable bedding. The dolphin-themed décor delighted our child, making it an ideal choice for families travelling with kids. The room felt warm and cosy, with well-maintained facilities. The air conditioning and Wi-Fi worked very well, and there were thoughtful touches such as children’s toiletries and slippers, showing great attention to detail. The hotel is located within the Chimelong Resort, very close to both the airport and the high-speed rail station. Luggage storage was extremely convenient — easy to drop off and collect at any time, which made travelling stress-free. We had the buffet dinner and OMG I could be eat there 3 days in a row and wouldnt get through all the options. Huge variety of both Chinese and Western cuisine. The butler service was proactive and attentive, sending daily updates on park activities and responding quickly to any questions or needs, resolving issues efficiently. Overall, an amazing experience! both the facilities and service were top-notch. We’re already planning our next trip back!

Wow, this place totally nails it – the rooms, the service, the swimmingpool… everything’s just top-notch! Seriously, every successful guy should bring his special someone here for at least one unforgettable night. Alright boys, time to level up! Overall our stay had great views as advertised however lacks the attentiveness and experience deserving of a 5 star hotel Pros: The view and location, the hotel indeed has prime viewing location of guangzhou city's canton tower, we specifically loved the idea of bathing with a view Earlier check in was not problematic and a porter at the entrance help to collect bags immediately to level 28 where the hotel lobby was Complimentary afternoon tea was nice - coffee, mini egg tarts and some small desserts Complimentary night time meal was also nice (but need to go to level 4) - noodles, veges and porridge TV was big and had vip streaming services in both the main TV and the bath TV :) Cons: Cleaning seems surface level, found stained q-tip on the ground missed by cleaning, and upon requesting additional cleaning it took more than 2 hours for cleaning to arrive Water was not hot enough for the bath, ended up boiling water to raise the water temperature There was no delivery robots and I had to go to level 1 to collect takeaways which is not ideal or ask the staff to collect which is not ideal for introverted or foreign people like me Small things like my scale didn't work or Complimentary drink from mini bar only for one drink Service is good but seem understaffed for a 5 star hotel, there was no one to order drinks from at cocktail hour Overall, this short stay lacked the refinement of stays I've come to expect of 5 star hotels, if not for the view the hotel would not be as popular in my opinio

I recently had a wonderful stay at the St. Regis Zhuhai, and I can't emphasize enough how exceptional the service was, particularly from the front desk staff, especially Matthew. He welcomed us with a warm smile and took the time to ensure all our needs were met. His attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile truly made our experience memorable. The hotel itself is stunning, with luxurious amenities and a beautiful view, but it was Matthew's outstanding hospitality that made our stay truly special. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a top-notch experience!

Overall stay was ok but our fireworks room was not ready on time. They were going to text us when the room was ready but hearing nothing we went to reception to check after 4 pm and it was not even cleaned yet. Thanks to reception they switched us to another fireworks room that was ready on 16th floor. It had a great view of the fireworks at night. However, our shower leaked water out onto the floor there was a gap on the bottom. We just got extra floor towels to mop it up. Buffet breakfast was very busy with queues for popular stations and taste was very average. If we stayed again would probably just order delivery takeouts for our meals. We got delivery takeout dinner, just have to walk down and outside to the bus stop to pick up our delivery orders. They had a laundry room which is very busy in the evening but handy to clean our clothes. Gym was ok used the treadmills. The hotel is great for location walking distance to ocean kingdom. Very cute penguin decoration for young kids in the room.
