Small boutique hotel ran by a very friendly woman and man. The 古镇 itself is very quiet and the surrounding town doesn't have much going on. Everyone is in bed by 10. Perfect if you're looking for a quiet couple days, but definitely worth mentioning! There is an amazing trail system all around Ninghai and the hostess can give you many excellent hiking recommendations. She's local to the area and (as far as I understood) the property which is now the hotel belonged to her family at the beginning of the 20th century. There's even a good bit of original furniture around. The guest rooms are clearly brand new and exceptionally clean. If you are sensitive to odors, you might ask them to remove some of the wormwood (艾草) from your room ahead of time. Two bags of it are hung in every room. I happen to like it but I could imagine some might find it too strong. The hostess speaks some English and works very hard to accommodate everyone. She even fed us dinner when we arrived too late to eat in the town. Overall very nice, we'll definitely stay here again if we go to Ninghai.

After reserving, I received a courtesy call from the hotel, and we then connected on WeChat since I don’t speak Chinese. The hotel introduced me to Long, the housekeeper, who coordinated our entire stay with great care and attention. Before our arrival, they asked if we had any special requests. As my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, I asked them to decorate the room with flowers—and they did a beautiful job. They also asked about our dinner and breakfast preferences and were impressively organized in their preparations. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, but our taxi had trouble locating the hotel. I called Long, and he immediately came out to meet us—a huge help! When we checked in, they welcomed us with refreshments and even surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade. The room had a bathtub, which our three-year-old son especially loved. To our delight, they had thoughtfully prepared a child’s hygiene kit for him, including kid-friendly soap, shampoo, and a dental kit. We also received a handwritten note, a fresh fruit bowl, and a lovely bouquet of flowers. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, spotless, and very tastefully decorated. There’s a small indoor play area for children, including a slide, tent, and games—our son played there every day. We also enjoyed strolling around the grounds and spending time at the scenic swimming pool, which is nestled in the mountains. The food was another highlight: we had a delicious Chinese dinner and a traditional Chinese breakfast, both full of flavor. Throughout our stay, Long was incredibly helpful and made our trip truly special. Thank you, Long! I highly recommend Lost Villa. They have other locations as well, and we’re definitely looking forward to staying with them again.

MX Mansion has given me the best overall service experience. You can really feel that the hotel places strong emphasis on service quality. Location: Strategically located in the heart of Ningbo, the hotel is just a stone’s throw away from Cheng Huang Night Market, the pedestrian street, shopping malls, and many popular restaurants. Super convenient for exploring the city. Staff: Check-in was pleasant and smooth, with friendly and warm staff at reception. They were very helpful in giving us navigation tips around the area. The team even went the extra mile to make our wedding anniversary special. A big thank you to Ms. Lu (吕小姐) for her thoughtful service! Amenities: The self-laundry area and gym are tucked away in a corner, so they’re convenient to use without disturbing guests. Room: Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. It feels like the hotel has been newly renovated. The environment is comfortable and well-maintained. Breakfast: The breakfast spread is good and offers enough variety if you prefer to dine in the hotel. Note: During winter, the hotel uses a centralised air-conditioning system, which means the rooms are set to heating mode. There are rooms with and without windows, so do consider your preference. What a great find. This lovely hotel is tucked away in a quiet area near to Siming Lake and the surrounding mountains. A great spot to cycle, drive and hike from. The hotel is beautifully finished with modern, wooden finish. The hosts are lovely and accommodating, super friendly and helpful. The food at the hotel was delicious. The common areas are comfortable with board games and even a guitar and piano! The rooms are clean and fresh, with a great modern bathroom and comfortable furniture. We had the most wonderful stay at Qixia Shanju Hotel. As international travelers, we were truly touched by how warmly and kindly we were treated from the very first moment. The hospitality here is exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and cared for. They prepared a fire for us, brought us warm milk, and even shared food with us at times. These thoughtful gestures meant so much to us, especially being far from home. Their kindness felt genuine and heartfelt. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. The environment is peaceful, clean, and very quiet — perfect for relaxing. It is located right by the water streams, which makes the atmosphere even more calming and special. Waking up to such natural surroundings was truly refreshing. This was more than just a stay; it felt like being welcomed by family. We are so grateful for the warmth, generosity, and care we experienced here. We will always remember this place and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, tranquility, and sincere hospitality. Thank you for making our trip so memorable. 💛

The staff was so friendly, helpful, and able to speak some English or use their translation app. The views and rooms were a lovely escape from the city. The food was spectacular- just remember you need to schedule the time and food you will eat beforehand for each day. We also went to the nearby city Xikou which is 30 minutes by car if you want to explore the temples and cafes. The staff can help book cars for any nearby travels. 100% will stay here again!

淡季入住真的太香了！入住前一天就有管家電話詢問入住時間和入住需求，主動升級視野更好的海景房間，入住套餐酒店贈送了海鮮麪套餐，雙人下午茶，小朋友的挖沙工具等，淡季人很少，無論是早餐還是沙灘體驗舒適度都很好，管家小桂有問必答，主動幫我們延遲退房，詢問期間的需求，淡季週中衹有一箇中餐廳，我們入住期間的中餐晚餐大多裏面解決的，海鮮性價比也可以，海鮮麪滿滿一大碗，就是文火牛肉感覺不太適合我們的口味，其他都挺好，還幫我們打包了下午茶☕️。淡季在酒店放鬆一下，看看海，發發呆真的太香了，而且這兩天天氣也很好，一點也不冷！不管是入住，餐廳還是退房，服務都很好，這次入住感簡直爆棚了，象山皇冠很好，下次還來！✌️

Upon arrival, May, the Front Office Manager, greeted us with a warm smile that instantly melted away our travel fatigue. With professionalism and attention to detail, she introduced the hotel’s amenities and kindly recommended an upgrade to the Lakeside Suite—a decision that immersed us in a dreamlike Jiangnan experience far beyond our expectations. The Lakeside Suite framed Dongqian Lake like a living ink-wash painting. Each morning, we opened the floor-to-ceiling windows to mist-kissed waters resembling a classical scroll; by dusk, the lake shimmered in amber hues under the setting sun, dotted with distant sailboats. Inside, the suite masterfully balanced traditional Chinese aesthetics with contemporary comfort—exquisitely carved screens divided the tranquil living space, embroidered cushions complemented modern art pieces, and the freestanding bathtub by the window created the illusion of floating above the lake. The smart bedside control system, allowing us to adjust lighting and curtains with a touch, harmonized technology with timeless elegance. May’s service was nothing short of impeccable. Noticing our preference for quiet mornings, she proactively adjusted housekeeping schedules. When we expressed interest in local flavors, she not only recommended authentic Ningbo restaurants but also hand-drew a map of nearby attractions. These thoughtful, personalized touches transformed a routine stay into a heartfelt experience. At checkout, a carefully prepared gift and a handwritten note from May added the perfect sentimental farewell. 去的時候正好是整個夏天后的難得的雨天，選的時間不巧，山裡氣温下降，小動物也不太出來了，酒店工作人員也怕我們白花錢，所以也不開夜間巡遊了，工作人員們也很友善，大堂有非常多的小動物，還有不少繪本，都可以借到房間去。小盆友夜晚的很開心。還在門口的小道上看到了馬陸和壁虎。 樹屋的形式也很特別。小閣樓爸爸睡得也很開心。房屋硬件設施還是不錯的。就是室外有些地板可能未固定，有鬆動要當心，下雨天，地面青苔容易打滑，走路一點要留心。 早餐也還行，停車場很小，停車位有限。工作人員也照顧我們長者一同出行，給換了不用爬樓梯的房子，裏面有一間還有小帳篷，娃很開心。值了
