Received a pleasant upgrade upon checking in! However as the room was not ready yet, the staff were kind enough to share with me all the tips to visit the various attractions over a nice introduction of their wide selection of tea. After checking in, I noticed that the room was full of basic necessities readily available for your usage and also had a good assortment of snacks which were replenished daily. Special mention to 小燕子 and 小敏 who were very hospitable and took great care of my stay throughout. 💯

We booked the two-storey villa and truly enjoyed the beautiful scenery within the hotel grounds, as well as the excellent service. From the doorman, restaurant staff, electrician, to the drivers — everyone was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. A special thanks to our Butler, Xiao Fang. She is such a lovely and caring lady — incredibly helpful, patient, and attentive. No matter what we requested, she always did her best to assist. I changed my boat-ride schedule multiple times, and she handled everything with so much patience and professionalism. Xiao Fang truly made our holiday more enjoyable and completely hassle-free. We would love to come back to this hotel again.

This place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

Whether you're already passionate about tea or just starting your journey, Buzhichun is the perfect place to stay in Wuyishan — a city deeply rooted in tea culture. The room is spacious, super clean, and thoughtfully designed with minimalist touches. The natural colors and materials create a calming atmosphere that feels like home — perfect for slow living. The bathroom is large, spotless, and well-equipped with amenities. I especially loved the beautiful natural light in the room. On the ground floor, there’s a vibrant tea shop where young locals drop by, creating a lively atmosphere. You'll find historical exhibitions and curated objects that offer insight into both Wuyishan and the rich heritage of Chinese tea. And don’t miss meeting Xiaobai, the friendly resident dog who’s always happy to greet guests. The 6th floor features a cozy tatami-style common room, complete with a go board and a tea table overlooking stunning panoramic mountain views — an ideal place to unwind. What truly sets this place apart is the host and the staff. They’re warm, welcoming, and always ready to share tea with you — each time you return from a walk or come downstairs. I stayed two nights and tried at least 6–7 different kinds of Wuyishan tea. Even as a solo traveler and a foreigner, I felt included in conversations and easily connected with other guests. Pro tip: If you know a bit of Chinese, it’ll help you dive deeper into the stories behind the place. But even if you don’t, the language of tea will still make you feel at home. 酒店位置很好，離景區很近，周邊購物逛街都很方便，有自己的停車場，停車方便，適合自駕，前台靚女服務很熱情、細心周到，有問必答，還免費為我升級了房型，房間很寬敞，乾淨，沒有異味，空調很靜，睡覺非常舒服。早餐也很豐富，很滿意！有機會再來武夷山一定還選柏納酒店。

Amazing hotel with a great courtyard and great southern style breakfast. Very friendly staff that invited me to drink tea with them. They have a wide selection of teas grown in WuyiShan. Highly recommend!

We feel genuinely torn writing this review. On the one hand, the hotel has many things going for it. The hotel is very clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful throughout. Its location is also ideal if you plan to visit Wuyishan National Park or need convenient access to Wuyishan North train station. However, we were left feeling quite disappointed due to an issue that mattered a lot to us. We had explicitly reserved a non-smoking room. Upon arrival, we were given a room that very clearly smelled of smoke. There was even a burn mark on the desk from a cigarette, which made it obvious that someone had smoked in there despite any official classification of the room. We immediately asked to be changed, and while the staff politely insisted the room was non-smoking, they agreed to move us. Unfortunately, the second room was just the same, it also reeked of smoke. At that point, not wanting to make a scene, we reluctantly accepted the situation, but it felt incredibly disheartening. As non-smokers who are very sensitive to cigarette smell, this seriously affected our comfort and left us feeling like our concerns weren’t really taken seriously. Being moved from one smoking room to another right after raising the issue made it seem like there was no real effort to accommodate us, which was frustrating. All that said, apart from this issue, our stay was generally pleasant. If smoke sensitivity isn’t a major concern for you, this hotel could still be a good option. But for non-smokers, we’d advise confirming room options very clearly in advance and perhaps even reconsidering if that’s a dealbreaker.

從預訂到退房，整個過程都非常順暢愉快。酒店的環境狀況令人印象深刻，老闆好像是新裝修了，這個價格能住到這種檔次的，算是非常不錯了。

位置好，G3浦城收費口出來4公里左右就可以到達。酒店對面是相當值得參觀的浦城範迪安美術館，周圍是綠地——旅途休息散步好地方。酒店房間寬敞、乾淨、工作人員工作態度很和善。早餐不錯，尤其是丹桂酒釀芝麻湯圓很贊——如果再加強保温就更好啦……
