"This hostel is in a building where beppu tower is located. It's clean and comfy 🙂
The female dorm room is big. Showers and toilets are clean, with free shampoo conditioner and shower gel provided for guests. There is paid washing machine and dryer to use. And on the 5 floor the guests can use sauna for free.
Only negative point is there are cameras in the female dorm room."

"Super nice hotel with onsen!
I have a short stay (unfortunately) at this hotel.
It was a short walk from Beppu Station, and nearby attractions also restaurant!
I am having so much fun strolling around the hotel!
Beppu tower is located like 5 minutes walk, the Donki store and my favourite restaurant Gusto also SUPER NEAR from the hotel!
I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND AND WILL AGAIN STAY AT THIS HOTEL!"

"I stayed in one of the tatami rooms. No attached bathroom. Very large room. Clean and sunny. Small hot spring bath area but it is not open earlier in the morning. it's very near the water. You can walk to the beach but looks quite abandoned. Good stay for the price."

My only complaint would be the classic ”the room was too small” there was literally nowhere to put my suitcase, I had it on my bed! I would think this type of room would be better suited to a Japanese business person with a small suitcase rather than a traveller with a big suitcase"

"Hotel facilities at big building is good. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to use the hot spring (main reason to choose this hotel) because there was drunk guest throw up inside men room and no one came to clean. Bed sheet has water stain on the outside so could be bothering for someone."

"The building was rustic and charming. The rooms were clean and spacious. You can tell it was built a while ago but well kept. It was less than 5 minutes from Beppu Station, and breakfast was free, although we never went to it. Highly recommend this location."

"We had a pleasant stay at Amanek Beppu. The lobby is bright and welcoming, giving a great first impression. The hotel provides free bottles of water, which was a nice touch and very convenient during my stay.
Our room was comfortable and well-kept, making it easy to relax after a long day. Parking is available nearby for a reasonable fee, so it was convenient even for those traveling by car.
Overall, Amanek Beppu offers comfort, convenience, and good value. We would happily stay here again."

Car parking was next to it, controlled by lift. Meaning park and the car was lifted in a building. Charged per daily and could retrieve car anytime.
7 private Onsen rooms, need to queue to use during evening. One or 2 was empty during afternoon.
Complimentary ramen in soya sauce broth from 10-11pm, if missed it, take the house brand instant noodle cup from reception.
Remember to take the complimentary Yakult from 6-10am. Coffee and matcha machine in lobby.
Remove shoes at lobby and roll luggages over a wet mat. Bare foot or socks provided throughout hotel, even at restaurant. Didn’t try the breakfast and dinner.
Typical Japanese hard mattress and pillows.
Good for families or friends up to 4 per room.

The ryokan is set in a beautiful, serene location, surrounded by nature, offering a peaceful retreat from daily life.
The room was spacious and tastefully decorated in traditional Japanese style, blending modern comforts with authentic charm. The private onsen attached to my room was a highlight, allowing me to unwind in soothing hot springs while taking in the picturesque views.
What truly sets Kannawaen apart is the attention to detail and personalized service. The staff went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect, making me feel truly cared for throughout my stay.
If you’re looking for a luxurious, tranquil getaway with impeccable service and a true Japanese experience, I highly recommend Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan. It’s a place we would love to visit again.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe hotel is situated 15 minutes taxi ride from the Beppu station. So we have nowhere to go that night. But it's good enough to have hotspring and drinks in the hotel. The staff is very polite and can explain what you can do in English. Then you were lead to the room and tips rejected.
We booked the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. The dinner time is either 6pm or 6:30pm and the breakfast time 8am or 8:30. The dinner is good but maybe my expectation is quite high, it didn't reach my expectation, especially for the sashimi.
For the onsen, there are 4 private onsens and 2 public. One of the private onsens is closed. Therefore we can use 3. You can use the private onsen when it is not occupied. Just lock the door and turn the plate to the other side. But all the onsen are closed by 12 midnight. And there is a room with free flow beer and soda, but it closes at 10pm. Don't drink beer before taking hotspring.
There is also an onsen in our room which can be used anytime. It's hot at night but not so hot in the next morning. Overall, the view is good. The staff is good. The food is good (just not so great) and the onsens are good. Beppu is a good place to stay a few days more

Staff is very nice and can suggest the good recommendations for nearby onsen and good restaurants around there. The common space and kitchen room is also good, they are provide many type of drinking with ice for us.
This hotel is located very close to beach, Beppu tower and ‘Don Quijote’. Love it.
If you have plan to go to Beppu, it is very good choice ! Recommended!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the hotel, and I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for one of your exceptional staff members, Mr.Koji.
During my stay, Koji was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to assist me with my problem. I was particularly touched by his kindness and proactiveness.
He demonstrated a level of attentiveness and genuine care that truly made a difference in my experience. It is clear that he does not hesitate to go the extra mile for guests.
The quality of a hotel is often reflected in its staff, and having employees like this is a huge asset. I will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again should I have the opportunity.

TTon KorawitThe room I chose to stay in was a mix of modern and traditional Japanese style. The staff provided good service, and the hotel was quite clean. Amenities and Japanese-style robes were available for self-service near the elevator.
There are two onsen baths, both indoor and outdoor.
The hotel is located by the sea, not far from Beppu Tower and nearby restaurants.
The parking area can accommodate multiple cars, and there is no additional charge for parking.

2233688****酒店位置很好，距離別府站步行約10分鐘，就在竹瓦温泉的巷子裏，周圍非常多飲食，便利店和商場，距離海邊和別府塔也很近。竹瓦温泉有砂浴，因為已經在指宿體驗過了，所以沒有再去。這是一家非常傳統的日式酒店，榻榻米房間相對比較大，設施看着舊，但非常乾淨；沒有獨立的淋浴間，需要去公共澡堂（坐浴+泡湯）。酒店也有私湯可以預約付費使用。房間不含每日打掃服務，需要每天自助把垃圾放在門口，有工作人員清收，房間提前預備了入住前兩日的毛巾和浴袍，不夠可以再去前台拿；因為沒有客房服務，所以也沒人來鋪床，需要自己整理。剛開始以為會不習慣，沒想到適應得不錯😂有洗衣房，300日元就能在入住期間不限使用，但是衹有兩台洗衣機+烘乾機，晚上高峯期要排隊。前台小哥哥態度很好，有問必答，很親切。早餐是定食，餐廳服務人員也很友善，入住三天每天餐食都有變化，這點很加分！別府真得非常舒適休閑，希望以後還有機會再來～

Good soundproofing between rooms. Only could hear passing by of trains while awake, so wasn’t a big an issue to us.
TV has YouTube and Netflix to watch!
Cons: No lift!!! We had to carry our heavy & big luggages to the 2nd floor! *Should indicate shortage of this important facility in the booking system!
Only 2 parking spaces for 7 units. *Should also indicate in the booking system that parking spaces are first come first served and have to park at nearby paying car parks if both were being taken up.
Will be nice to provide some garbage bags in the room as clearing of food waste from the room was definitely necessary during the many days of our stay!
Dining table (super wobbly and one side of the table legs seemed like giving away very soon) needs to changed/repaired instantly!
