The food is truly wonderful—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, offering both local and international options that will satisfy every guest. Combined with the friendly service and relaxing environment, it makes for an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Thamel. It’s a place where comfort, hospitality, and great dining come together seamlessly.

I had an incredible stay and extended two more nights.  The GM and the staff are super helpful and customer oriented.  Room is spacious.  Morning yoga is included and the male yoga teacher is phenomenal.  The yoga practice is inside the monastery.  The location is another advantage.  It’s walking distance to the Boudha Stupa which allows me to walk there a few times a day.  At the same time, it’s in a quiet dead end.  Lastly, it could be helpful for some who wish to disconnect digitally because   wifi doesn’t work too well .  There’s only one server located near the staircase in my building. If your room is far away from it, the signal is obviously problematic.

Odalar geniş ve bol ışık alıyor. Banyo kullanışlı ve su basıncı iyi. Kış için elektrikli battaniye, portatif ısıtıcı ve sıcak su torbaları sağlanıyor. Lezzetli ve uygun fiyatlı kahvaltı. Paranın karşılığını fazlasıyla veriyor.

The Hotel Barahi Kathmandu is in a great location, walking distance to great souvenirs in Thamal, tourist sites like the Garden of Dreams and the former Royal Palace. The hotel staff were so friendly, engaging and helpful. The hotel has a pool up on level 7 with great views of Kathmandu. The only flaw with the pool is it is surrounded by the restaurant, so no one swims in it. I had a suite the room was beautiful, very happy with the cleanliness and room service. The only flaw with the room is that it backed on to the service area for staff who were all working very hard, but there was banging and clanging all night and morning.

A beautiful hotel in an airport convenient, but horrible location. Perfect for 1 night pass through traffic or conference meeting, but not great as a tourist base hotel. Staff amazing, Indian restaurant was quality. Italian restaurant exposes you to traffic fumes and noise, very unpleasant, likely this menu is also available in the Dyne restaurant. Drink and food prices not bad, Breakfast for the price they charge was a let-down. Rooftop pool and bar area fantastic. Room very comfortable.

Отличный отель, расположение в самом центре, но в глубине улицы, поэтому шума с улицы не было. При этом слышимость из коридора довольно высокая, но в номере есть беруши. Очень чисто, полотенца, халаты, постельное белье - все идеально белое. Воды в номер дают очень много, это плюс. Завтрак на 12 этаже с панорамным видом, красиво, приятно. Завтрак в целом нормальный, кофе неплохой, но выпечка так себе, среднего качества. Персонал милейший, очень вежливые и приветливые. Вообще забронировала этот отель в первую очередь из-за традиционного непальского стиля и не пожалела - внутри красиво и приятно.

Location is alright, there’s occasional cockroaches running past you when you are in the room, cleanliness has a lot to improve on. Worst part is that I booked a single room and was given a room next to the elevator with a window without curtain, anyone tall enough would be able to look into my room and everything in it, to add on to that, the room was next to the elevator and you can hear every footstep and noise/chat coming from the corridor, and when the elevator moves, there’s this super unnecessary music that runs with it so you would get a sense of that throughout the day and night. When I went to the receptionist to ask for a different room, she told me there’s no other rooms available and I have to pay an extra 1500 rupee to upgrade to a different room, that amount, adding with the original I paid for- would already be much higher than a standard deluxe room. Obviously she and the hotel was trying to scam me by leveraging on giving a super lousy room at first. Even though they eventually agreed to change room for me at no charge, I was honestly traumatised by this hotel and was uncomfortable through the stay. Then at check-out in the next morning, the guy was reluctant to let me go asking if I had already paid and making calls to confirm about it. Overall there’s surely better rooms for similar price in Thamel, so do try to skip this hotel unless you like some good memorable reasons to spoil your trip.

The room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it. Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out. At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service! Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on. I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw! Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome. All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return. As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

I stayed for 2 nights, it didn't feel safe for me as a solo woman traveller. One the first night around 11pm there were 3-4 men shouting and laughing and knocked my door. I was scared and called the reception. The phone wire was not connected to the phone, i have to hold it tight to the phone while i was speaking. It was a terrifying experience. When in emergency even the phone wasn't working! the receptionist took 30 min to for the men to calm down. The next day morning the receptionist told me they men moved out. But i saw them in the evening in the hotel. Didn't feel safe. Again, the men, shouting and aloud. Still i couldn't sleep there, awake whole two nights i stayed there, didn't feel safe. The place was clean. Location was good.

酒店服務非常專業，早餐豐富，前台服務熱情周到。説要水，很快就送來了。而且酒店裡面有電吹風，洗澡熱水非常舒適。 很多中國人到其他地方找中餐吃，結果發現最正宗的中餐在酒店樓上九層。而且這裏的巧克力布朗尼，非常正宗。原本應該是和冰淇淋一起吃，我提出來要吃熱的，酒店立即做了熱呼呼的冰激凌。酒店旁邊有個加德滿都最大的農貿市場，6個大蘋果，衹要不到20元人民幣。這裏什麼蔬菜水果都能買到。 因為加德滿都經常堵車，如果銜接航班，酒店離機場很近，這又是一大優勢。
