We enjoyed our stay here, so when we returned from Shangri-la to Lijiang, we made a repeat booking at this place. The cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the staff were the main reasons for our return. Location: This place is situated near the border of the Lijiang Ancient City. It is close to the main road (2 min walk) which makes it easy to meet your driver for airport transfer or any tour you join. It is also extremely convenient to get to the main attractions such as Mu Residence (5 min) and Zhongyi Night Market (6-8 min). You will be away from the hustle and bustle at night, and get some peace and quiet. Room: We were lucky that we got a room on the ground floor, as we had very heavy luggage. It would be very difficult to pull them up the stairs if we were on the upper floor. Every room has a different name, and shows that the owners put some thought into giving each of their guests a unique experience. The room we got was of moderate size, with a small sofa area for you to enjoy tea and snacks. There was also a kettle and four cups, and a 5-litre water dispenser that dispensed hot and cold water - I appreciated this, which was more environmentally friendly and generous than other accommodation which gave us 2 bottles of water (500ml each) each every day. The room was also equipped with heating, for the room and the floor, and they were controlled by the front desk. There was also a humidifier. The room's interior decoration was warm and cozy. Outdoor: We also enjoyed sitting outdoors, idling, gazing at the fish, watching the flowers bloom, while enjoying many cups of tea. Toilet: It was of decent size, with a shower cubicle that dispensed hot water pretty quickly. They provided us with everything so there's nothing you need to bring: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers, slippers for shower, towels for body and hair, one-time face towels, hair dryer, body lotion, soap, detergent. Service: The staff was hospitable, friendly, and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed chatting with them over many cups of tea, and rose pastries. They even recommended travel routes and restaurants to us, which were very good, and we even got discounts or freebies by telling the restaurants where we were staying. It was easy to communicate with the staff on WeChat, they responded promptly, and arranged free airport transfer for us as we stayed more than three nights. Food: Breakfast was served every morning, which included a bowl of Yunnan mixian (noodles), a steamed bun, a hard-boiled egg, corn, and some spicy preserved vegetables. Every booking came with one serving of afternoon tea, which included rose pastries and a variety of fruits. We arrived after midnight and the staff prepared some rose pastries and fruit for us, in case we would be hungry, which was very thoughtful of them!

New experience stays with amazing hospitality. Suggestion : stay within lijiang old town but close to main road . It will avoid the hassle of carrying your luggage, 1) owner of the home stays arranged both transfer picked up from the train. From the car park area to the home stay about 300m , the luggages were delivered to the homestay when will arrived but we have to carry ourselves when departed.. no joke .. we need to carry as the road is uneven stone road with up and down hill . Good exercise , sweat a lot . 2) We left the home early, the owner arrange the take away thoughtful breakfast . Some chocolate and portable oxygen for our Yulong mountain trip. 3) provided many useful information and help us on the Yulong ticket booking. 4) Provided free laundry services , help us to clean and fold the linen for us . Very much appreciated. 5) Free unlimited beverage available from 8-4pm daily .

Situated in the ancient town with a nice view. The path is quite rough and uneven so the staff helped us carry the luggage from the point where the taxi dropped us. The staff was very helpful and provide a lot of guidances. As we would miss the breakfast for both mornings because we would need to leave early for the tours, the staff packed the breakfast for us! The staff also helped me at late night with booking a taxi to a bus station. If it were not for him, we would have missed the bus to Tiger Leaping Gorge as no Didi taxis accept our advance booking.

We had an amazing stay at Pauline. Definitely a top choice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Lijiang. It’s located in Yuhu village that is quieter and smaller but the surrounding is super peaceful and chill. We loved the view from our room where we can see the courtyard as well as the snow mountain. Our room in Pauline is super beautiful and comfortable and we wished we stayed longer than two nights. The staff in Pauline are also very helpful and friendly to us, making sure that we know where to go and are well taken care of. Breakfast in the hotel is also very good, and it was served in their very beautiful and comfortable cafe area. The cats are also very cute. Highly recommend for people who wants to have a quiet getaway but still close enough to the tourist sites.

We were staying in Lijiang for a few days and this was our Stay for the duration,directly in the Center of Oldtown at the Perfect Location. This is probably our favourite place in our travels in China. The Room was Spacious and Spotless clean. Since we were there in Winter the nights got quite cold but the modern heater made it warm and cozy.You also get so many snacks/tee and coffee. The whole Place feels like from a traditional fairytale With the Garden, the cute pets, and the hundreds if not thousands of Succulents and Flowers. Auntie makes a nice mixed breakfast and the Boss is super friendly too. The biggest Highlight was A Zhong though. He collected us from the Airport and also dropped us off when we had to leave in a classy mercedes. During our Stay he made sure we got everything we needed and more.Once we left Lijiang i lost my phone in Shang hai right before we had to leave the country, and he helped us to retrieve it from the police Station by getting us in touch with a local Police officer. Truly the best Guy there is. We will return to Lijiang one day and stay here again anytime!!

One of My Best Stay Experiences—Authentic & Unforgettable This was one of my most memorable hotel stays, and I’ve stayed at many top-tier, five-star hotels around the world. While this may not be the most luxurious in terms of facilities, it more than makes up for it with its genuine charm and warmth. The owner was incredibly friendly, making us feel like we were staying at a friend’s home rather than a hotel. This welcoming vibe perfectly complements the enchanting atmosphere of this beautiful ancient city.   The views were absolutely breathtaking, especially from our top-floor room. The owner went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience, offering a spectacular panorama of the old town and surrounding mountains. The location is ideal—perched on a small hill, it provides an elevated vantage point for those stunning views, though the short uphill walk may be a slight effort due to the altitude. But trust me, it’s worth it.   If you’re visiting Lijiang to immerse yourself in its relaxed beauty and rich culture, there’s no better place to stay. I originally booked for three nights but quickly realized I’d need more time—next visit, I’m planning a full week to truly unwind and soak it all in. This isn’t a place to rush; it’s a place to slow down, savor the moment, and let the magic of Lijiang embrace you.   I can’t wait to return.

This is an excellent place to stay for anyone looking to unwind and catch the sunrise. It is approximately 15 minutes from the key sunrise (日照金山) viewing spots and about 30 minutes from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (玉龙雪山). The location offers a thoughtful balance of convenience and tranquillity. Ride-hailing via DIDI is straightforward (there’s always a ride confirmed within a few seconds), and Baisha Ancient Town (白沙古镇) is less than a 10-minute walk away. For those planning to visit Shuhe Ancient Town (束河古镇) and Lijiang Ancient City (丽江古城), they are about 15 minutes and 30 minutes away respectively. Yundu (云渡) is well-situated for both nature excursions and easy access to the surrounding towns. The service is excellent—my room was consistently cleaned while I was at breakfast—and other meals (lunch/dinner) can be ordered from the kitchen at very reasonable prices. One of the highlights of my stay, however, was returning each day to their seven-month-old Samoyed, who is friendly and playful whenever he is not entertaining other guests. I initially planned to stay four nights but extended to seven because of the cosy atmosphere, convenient location, and daily playtime with Sanjin (三斤). You can also ask the front desk or message them on WeChat anytime—everyone there is so friendly and helpful. One day, they even surprised me with a bun from Henan, which was such a sweet touch.

Warm welcome by owner and very comfortable stay for our 3 days trip at Lijiang. Totally gonna stay here again if visiting Lijiang 😁

Mr. Ma, owner of this hotel, was extremely friendly and personable. There was such a warm 'home' atmosphere that we missed in our month of travel in Yunnan. His family was always at hand to help us out with anything that we needed, or for a simple chat. The room was very spacious and clean. Aside from the minor leak that occurred during a severe rainstorm, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Shu He area in Liliang. The location was spot on!

I rarely write reviews for hotels, but I really loved their service. So far, this is the hotel that offers the best service. A staff member explained all the attractions and food options in Baisha Village in detail. They provide afternoon tea, evening snacks, and breakfast—all included in the hotel fees. They also offer other services like candle making and baking classes. Unfortunately, due to my packed schedule, I didn’t get to register for those classes. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my stay and the top-notch service provided.
