"Very clean and well-appointed room. Comfortable bed and pillows. Tub nice although the water was not super hot. Room heater worked well. The gym here is actually pretty nice, including dumbbells up to 25kg, some straight bars up to 30kg, a smith machine, a few regular machines, bands, yoga mat, and various treadmills/bike/ellipticals. However, it seems just using your card doesn’t work to open it, you have to get an employee to unlock it for you, and it’s a bit difficult to find due to not enough signage pointing it out. The hot springs outside were pretty nice, I was surprised that despite staying in the hotel I still had to pay an additional fee of over $20 to access the hot springs even just one time. Breakfast buffet was also another $20. The hot springs had lots of small pools, they all seemed the same but with water ranging from 37-42C from what I could see walking around a little, I’m not sure how natural they are because they didn’t have any smell or special feeling despite supposedly being from a sulphur source? In December there’s not too many people so you can easily find a small pool for yourself. They also have a large indoor swimming pool which is suitable for swimming laps. There’s not much in the immediate surrounding area but it’s only a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest subway station and a 10 minute drive to the Hua Qing Palace. The staff speak English and are polite and friendly."
