Pros: •I don't see the point in just choosing a room here. Be sure to get a superior Japanese-style room with an open air bath or even a bungalow, and definitely one with a sea view. Then you're guaranteed a complete experience. •The hotel welcomes guests barefoot or in socks on tatami mats, a very pleasant and authentic experience. •VIEWS!! Gorgeous panoramic views of the ocean. •This is a traditional ryokan, so tattoos are not allowed, BUT I was immediately given tape to cover up the tattoos on my arms, and everything was fine. •Delicious food, lots of delicious food! The breakfasts are especially amazing. •The hotel offers a lot of complimentary drinks, and the after-onsen area has free ice cream and cold water. They serve local ramen from 10-11 PM also complementary. •All the onsen are very clean and cool. Especially the male and female one, built into a cliff right on the ocean shore, has a view. By the way, they provide special clothing, so if you're shy, don't worry. •There were no stink bugs. It's important to understand that this is nature, and insects are normal. Cons: •Despite the fact that many foreigners stay here, there's almost no English navigation and the staff speaks very little English. •There are only two private onsen, and the ryokan is huge; it was easiest to get the key to the private ones in the evening. •The main dishes at the kaiseki dinner were surprisingly disappointing (dry rice and tasteless noodles), although the other dishes were very good. •The onsen are closed from 10:00 to 15:00, so there's nothing to do during these 5 hours, especially if the weather is bad 😭 •The ryokan doesn't offer food other than breakfast and dinner and don’t have a restaurant, so if it rains or a typhoon, you'll have to go outside the hotel to find food. Conclusion: If this is your first ryokan, it's probably better to choose a more tourist-oriented one. If you want to fully immerse yourself in onsen culture and be captivated by the ocean, this is a great choice ☺️

I cannot recommend Candeo Hotels Nankai Wakayama enough! Its super convenient, just a few steps to the JR/Nankai lines and if the trains take too long to come, a few more steps and you're at the bus interchange! The service staff is awesome, room is huge and breakfast is yummy! The coin laundry is super affordable but there's only 2 washers & 2 dryers so to avoid ”peak hour”, better start early or go late. Its on the same floor as the baths and oh my God, the outdoor bath at night in winter is awesome!

It was my first experience of Japanese hot springs and I enjoyed it a lot. First of all, I'd like to thank a male staff who met me during check-in. He welcomed me warmly, explained all the details of my stay and helped to carry my bag to the room. Unfortunately, the female personnel wasn't that much friendly the next day when I asked for some help with my luggage. The rooms have a splendid view of a forest and a river, old style Japanese but with some modern facilities. The meal aren't a traditional Ryokan type but are still quite enjoyable with sushi and wagyu beef as a starter. In general, I can say it's a mix of traditional Japanese and moredn western style hotel in one. If you're lucky and avoid the days when the hotel is crowded you'd be able to enjoy the river view from the onsed in quiet. Unfortunately, the water in the outdoor wasn't as clear as I expected. But the rest was just amazing.

I liked the hotel, tasty breakfast, nice interior. I also liked the lounge on the 2nd floor, free massage chairs, ice cream, probiotic drinks. The changing room in onsen is fine, the onsen itself is convenient, well decorated. However, it seemed that cleaning service overdid their job and chloride smell was strong in the onsen. In women zone there are 2 baths with 40+ °C, sauna and 1 bath with colder temp. I liked the room, good conditioner, soft cozy bed.

我們由紀伊田邊駅搭巴士 就一車到酒店對面 一入到酒店又香香的木味 雖然酒店已有多年歷史 但是仍保持清潔 這酒店的重點是他的自助晚餐和自助早餐 簡直要住幾天，才能食齊所有的食物 真的超級多款式，而且每樣都很好味 還有自助餐中，居然有燒肉放題 超級讚賞

A private hot spring bath is superb in the room for relaxation. Friendly front desk reception staff Victor is helpful.

Limanın muhteşem manzarasına sahip bir tepenin üzerinde yer alan temiz ve nispeten modern bir otel. Zemin katta kapalı/açık onsen ve her öğleden sonra 15:00 ile 17:00 arasında ücretsiz alkol ve atıştırmalıklar var! Paranızın karşılığını fazlasıyla alıyorsunuz ve Kumano Kodo'yu yaptıktan sonra dağlardan yeni çıktıysanız, rahatlayıp medeniyete geri dönebileceğiniz harika bir yer.

room and onsen is clear and comfortable lobby staff told me the starting dinner time is wrong but at last they special to remake the dinner food for us (5 persons) we're so happy about their staff service very nice and helpful we will choose this hotel again

外景絕佳，就是坐公交車到大浦站要自己拖箱子上山路走一點，或趕六點在白濱站的迎送巴士。可以事先查一下迎送巴士的時刻表，最晚一班好像是下午五點多。衞生設備有些老舊，別的服務都不錯，國人減少，大多都是日本家庭帶孩子來玩的多。室內游泳池有點小，大多是娃娃們的主場。早餐還行，能吃飽，就一般的酒店自助早餐吧，不過他們這邊有明太子和金槍魚肉。回程讓酒店定了出租車去機場，10分鐘就到了。這邊離白良濱和千疊敷，三段壁有點距離，做公交去最好拿一張時刻表，準備好零錢。
