Oda çok sessizdi ve kahvaltıda hem Japon hem de Batı tarzı açık büfe seçenekleri vardı. Lobinin yanında hediyelik eşya dükkanı vardı, 17:00'de kapanıyordu, oradan hediye alabilirsiniz. Konumu Nishi Hongan-ji Tapınağı'na çok yakındı, dev ginkgo ağaçları çok güzeldi. Metroya yürüyerek altı yedi dakika sürüyordu.

Very nice ambience and a new luxurious hotel in Kyoto close to the 清水寺。 Restaurant choices are quite limited inside the hotel complex but they have got a great spa with excellent service staff. Down the hill should be some international restaurants at Park Hyatt Kyoto another luxurious five star hotel. Breakfast bento boxes not too appetising and not much food selections for in room dining as well. But the neighbourhood was quiet and nice.

Otelin mimarisi ve iç tasarımı, Kyoto'nun estetik güzelliğinin gerçek bir yansımasıydı. Lobiye girdiğim anda huzur ve uyum duygusuyla karşılandım. Geleneksel Japon unsurlarının çağdaş tasarıma kusursuz bir şekilde entegre edilmesiyle detaylara gösterilen özen kusursuzdu. Ortak alanlardaki sakin bahçe manzaraları genel cazibeyi artırdı ve hareketli şehrin ortasında huzurlu bir vaha sağladı. Otelin personeli misafirperverliğin simgesiydi. Check-in sırasındaki sıcak karşılamadan, kaldığım süre boyunca gösterilen özenli hizmete kadar, konforumu sağlamak için ellerinden geleni yaptılar. Samimi gülümsemeleri ve her türlü talebe yardımcı olma isteklilikleri, kendimi evimdeymiş gibi hissetmemi sağlayan sıcak ve samimi bir atmosfer yarattı. Yerel bölge hakkındaki bilgileri ve gezi ve yemek önerileri paha biçilemezdi ve Kyoto'da geçirdiğim zamanı en iyi şekilde değerlendirmemi sağladı. Kaldığım oda lüks ve zarafetin cennetiydi. Tertemiz temiz ve zevkli bir şekilde dekore edilmiş oda, keşifle geçen bir günün ardından gevşememe olanak tanıyan bir huzur duygusu yayıyordu. The location was great just 10 minutes walk from Kyoto Station East Exit.Next to a Avanti Mall that you can go to subway through underground route.Free drinks and snacks for hotel guest at lounge from 10am to 530pm. There is free luggage storage at level 1. Only thing is that room seem a bit dusty for those with sensitive nose. Bed and pillow is a bit soft for those that like firmer type.

Everything was good except the service in hotel restaurants, which was exceptionally bad: 1) breakfast: waited for food for 40 mins, reminded the server 2 times - still nothing; 2) bar: a too long wait for a cocktail. the server said that as apology said cocktail won’t be in included in the bill… but it was there; 3) afternoon tea: told the staff that I dislike dairy products, but have no allergy. So, for example I can eat most sweets, but not the ones with a strong taste of mascarpone cream. In the end they gave me just a plate of fruit and when I remninded them of the above they… did nothing ) I stayed at this hotel and had afternoon tea there last year too - everything was fine then. All of the above are 3 different restaurants inside the hotel, so I wouldn’t recommend going to any restaurant there. In all other aspects except services related to food the hotel is good.

Good location and big room, however, breakfast all the same everyday, no fry egg no boil egg, only plain omelette and scramble eggs, very boring to have it every day during my stay of 5 nights. French restaurant is nice at rooftop. But quene up more then 30 minutes for the rooftop French restaurant set breakfast. The other occasion in 1/F breakfast also need to wait. Can’t accept their service was so slow, cannot clean tables and let us going in. Otherwise it is a nice hotel, as room is big with shuttle bus from Kyoto station.

Potel Umokoji Kyoto redefines what a hotel offers its guests. Firstly, the location is unique, an easy 5 min walk from the station ( Umokoji Kyotonishi) and 3 min train ride to the center of Kyoto. Yet this convenience is coupled with its location adjoining a large wooded park which some guest rooms overlook - a special and calm outlook right in the city centre. Rooms are large by Japan standards and both the Japanese style rooms ( super comfy ) and more traditional Western styled rooms offer a Scandanavian/ Japanese decor style which is both modern and uncluttered. In addition, guest services on offer include complementary DIY fresh brewed coffee and in the evenings, complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks . Can be taken either to your room with balcony overlooking parklands or in the guest book or music library, both offering a calm respite from a sometimes frenetic Kyoto CBD. Unique, special and largely overlooked by tourist group bookings, the Potel Umokoji manages to offer the ambience and guest experiences that many mass tourism venues have lost. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
