Excellent location, close to the mall and walking distance to the market to exchange currencies. With security, so we felt very safe. Upon arrival, they will take your luggage to deliver in your room after checking in later.
Plus, since the room was ready, they allowed us to checkin early at 9:30AM, free of charge! Highly recommended!

It's 100% a 5 star hotel. The service is exceptional. The 90 mins body scrub at their spa is one of the most value for money I've experienced and I have paid for a lot of premium spa experiences across Southeast Asia.
There's a shower with a aesthetic stool for those who can't stand for long complete with a door. There's also a spacious bath that is separate from the shower and the toilet.
Seating after seating after seating. A bench at the foot of our twin bed. Perfect for putting on socks while sitting down. There's 2 dining chairs for a table that comfortably fits two and there's still a chaise beside the window and lastly a backless chair for a side table that doubles as your vanity. They included 2 dining plates and even silverware in the drawers under the minibar. 2 teacups along with 2 glasses.
The rooftop pool and the gym has a separate shower stalls and restroom stalls with an electric dryer for your swimsuits. Phenomenal. Staff are always stationed there at all times for any aid you may request of them. There's also a steam room which we used.
I cannot gush about them enough. I love

After nearly a decade away, I finally found myself back at this hotel—and what a welcome return it was. From the moment I stepped into the lobby until the moment I reluctantly rolled my suitcase out for the airport, the experience was nearly flawless (with just one teensy quibble—I’ll get to that in a bit).
Check-in was smooth as silk, made even sweeter by the offering of fresh watermelon juice. A delightful touch!
I did encounter a minor hiccup with my luggage—it took a while to reach my room, and I had to ring the concierge to investigate its whereabouts. But the porter was so genuinely apologetic, I almost wanted to apologize for bothering him. Guilt level: Catholic nun.
Now, onto the room. It was wonderfully spacious, and while the decor still whispered “vintage business trip,” it was undeniably comfortable. In a world of modern hotels where rooms are the size of a generous walk-in closet and the lighting feels like a moody art installation, Parkroyal proudly remembers what hotels are supposed to be: roomy and restful.
Would I have loved a USB charging port near the bed? Yes. Did I survive without it? Also yes.
The one area that could use some serious love was the bathroom—more specifically, the shower bathtub combo. The tub had some visible mould on the floor, the shower head had a bizarre crush on the wall (refusing to face the actual human in the tub), and the toilet flush was positioned so low I wondered if it was designed by a committee of hobbits. Tall guests or elderly folks may need a bit of acrobatics to reach it. That said, the rest of the bathroom was perfectly functional.
My room faced the swimming pool, which looked inviting, though I skipped it in favor of the gym—and what a gem it was. Not only did it feature the usual suspects (treadmills, dumbbells, etc.), but it also boasted a yoga area, TRX setup, rowing machine, and even a vertical climber. It felt more like a premium fitness club than a hotel gym.
Breakfast deserves a standing ovation. A buffet that goes beyond the usual suspects, offering everything from local delights to Western staples, plus Japanese, Korean, Indian, and Chinese options. I may or may not have returned for seconds. And thirds.
In short: would I come back? Absolutely. It’s a comforting mix of old-school hospitality with just enough modern touches. A charming classic that knows what really matters.
They didn’t update their menu price which is they should definitely do it . Always no toilet paper . Never clear the dirty plate . Let them wash my dirty clothes and the smell so bad . Never dry properly. Never help me with my luggage when I check in . They just looking at me I pull my 2 luggage plus other heavy stuff on my own . Price increase everyday .

Classic colonial-style room with modern renovation, everything is nice at hall and corridor, room bed is soft and comfortable, separate bath and toilet with super cleanliness, kind and attentive clerks. And the slippers in the room are the best quality I have seen in Myanmar. Location is near from Sule pagoda and in the very centre of Yangon downtown. Only regret is outside noise and bad smell on the nearby street, there are so many roadside vendors and loud Indian music going on till evening. I woke up early in the morning by the noise of generator outside and opposite side of the hotel, for which the hotel is not responsible. If sound-proof room is available even with extra cost it would make me want to come back.

MMisafir KullanıcıI stayed at Melia with my family and from check in to check out we had a fantastic stay. Most of the staff were really obliging and helpful with a special note to Coe and her team in the Market Restaurant who ensured our breakfasts meals were always comfortable and our needs catered for. The hotel is situated near the picturesque Inya Lake and we had a Lake view room which made the morning wake up extra special. Melia is also next door to the Myanmar Plaza mall where there are plenty of shops, including a super market and the top floor has an extensive food court. Though if you wished to stay and eat at the hotel there are a number of restaurants in the hotel serving outstanding dishes. For the amenities there are a number of bars and a lounge on the top floor - though this is only available to those who have a specific room. During our stay we also made use of the swimming pool and the gym. Both very clean and well maintained with the gym having a good variety of equipment and fresh towels and water to hand. Overall it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay and should we return to Yangon, Melia is a place we would certainly consider staying at again.
GGary Joseph HayesReview: The Governor’s Residence, Yangon
The Governor’s Residence remains one of Yangon’s most atmospheric and elegant hotels, combining colonial charm with modern comfort. Nestled in a quiet embassy district, the restored teak mansion, once the home of a British colonial governor, immediately impresses with its graceful architecture and tranquil gardens. Approaching through leafy pathways and lotus ponds, guests are welcomed into an oasis that feels far removed from the bustle of downtown Yangon.
Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring polished teak floors, four-poster beds, and traditional Burmese textiles that reflect the building’s heritage. Balconies overlook either the lush gardens or the inviting fan-shaped swimming pool, creating a sense of calm retreat. The service is consistently warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, with staff eager to share local knowledge and assist with arrangements.
Dining is a highlight. The open-air restaurant offers refined Burmese and international dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and presented with flair. Breakfast under the wide verandas, with tropical birdsong in the background, is especially memorable. Afternoon cocktails by the pool or an evening meal by candlelight evoke the romantic grandeur of a bygone era.
What sets the Governor’s Residence apart is its atmosphere: it is not simply a hotel but a living reminder of Yangon’s colonial past, reimagined with comfort and grace. Whether visiting on business or leisure, guests leave with a sense of serenity and timeless elegance. For those seeking a blend of history, luxury, and authentic Burmese hospitality, this residence is an exceptional choice.
MMisafir KullanıcıComfy room and big bathroom (the shower is amazing!). The WiFi is very unstable. There a lot of options for the breakfast, but the western section isn’t so good (at least they have bread and eggs). The YaYa’s menu is delicious, and the room service is fast. All the staff is very helpful.
MMisafir KullanıcıCozy room. Comfortable bed and had all the basic amenities Accommodating and helpful reception staff. Value for money. Would stay again if in the neighborhood.
MMisafir KullanıcıIf you're looking for a comfortable and affordable stay near airport in Yangon, Myanmar, I highly recommend this hotel. My recent stay at this hotel was an enjoyable one and I have nothing but good things to say about my experience.
The location of the hotel is excellent - it's situated near the airport, and the rooms are cozy and clean, with all the necessary amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Despite being a budget hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the facilities provided, including the comfortable bed, good air-conditioning, and hot shower.
The hotel staff were friendly, professional and always ready to assist with any requests or queries I had. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and hassle-free, and the staff were always available to help with luggage and transportation arrangements.
One thing I particularly liked about the hotel was the breakfast buffet - it was simple, and delicious
This hotel is an excellent choice for travelers who are looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in a convenient location near the airport. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Yangon.

IIsfp-Solo TravelerEverything was good👌👌👌😍💙…The only downside was that you might feel too lazy to go out or sightsee because the hotel room was very comfortable, and it was extremely hot outside😅 —- You could just stay in your room, enjoy the view, go for a swim, or have a spa day….
The breakfast buffet had a lot of options, and they even changed some of the dishes the next day. My favorite was the sauna—it was really good. I also loved the hot shower, as it didn’t turn cold even after being on for a long time😍
The massages were great, and the prices were reasonable…. The staff were very helpful and kind…. There were occasional power interruptions, but they only lasted a few seconds since the hotel’s backup power kicked in immediately…
+ Although it’s a bit far from the tourist spots, you can take a Grab—it’s affordable and the best option since it gets really hot during the day….
NNang Saw htet htet linHighly recommends to stay in Yangon. Very nice surroundings with Inya lake views. Buffet breakfast also delicious with cozy space. I stayed together with my 2 years old baby . Hotel’s staffs are also very friendly and helpful.
