"Great location inside the ancient city! Super easy access to all the main attractions! The hotel has an incredible courtyard (the most beautiful in all Pingyao). They gave us an upgraded room that was really spacious and super comfortable, modern, very clean and tidy (nice bed, shower and very quiet). Great breakfast and also great restaurant to have lunch or dinner with lots of great food! All the staff were welcoming and helpful! The young lady gave us a map that optimized our itinerary and even suggested some sites that we didn’t know (and were really great). Really recommend this hotel for everyone! The best place to stay inside the old city!"

"We had a good experience staying here. They were patient with our lack of ability to speak Chinese and we’re prepared to communicate through translation apps. The room was well accommodated and clean. Bottled water was provided and a traditional Chinese breakfast was available each morning. If you need your coffee in the morning to get started, you will need to bring your own or is it one of the coffee stands throughout town. The hotel is on one of the Backstreets next to a park and requires about a five minute walk to get to the main shopping streets, but as result is also quiet. thanks for a great day."

"PROS: Great new hotel that's just outside of the Ping Yao's north gate. It was nice to be outside of the old city and get a taste of the local atmosphere. The front staff, cleaning ladies were all incredibly gracious warm and welcoming. The laundry area was well kept, they provided contact solution, womens products and some other extras not usually found in other hotels. Overall the hotel looked spectacular. CONS: I did have a problem with the cigarette smoke in the 1st room we were given and had to look at 3 other rooms before settling on a room across from the ”service” station, all night long there was loud banging and thudding, this wasn't too bad because we were exhausted from our day of walking around. Other than that, we had a great stay!"

"住得很舒服，乾淨、安靜，老闆人好好，有接送站服務，也會教我們怎麼逛怎麼吃，拿着客棧優惠券去對應飯店吃飯都有打折。而且都是平遙最出名那幾家，早餐雖然客棧沒提供，但也是拿着優惠券去拐個彎就到的早餐店吃，可以打折。退房時老闆還送了幾瓶自家的老陳醋，很香。哦，還有可以去銀飾店免費拿小禮品。太周到了。"

Room was well renovated, owner super friendly and very accommodating, we asked for more water, toilet paper, different type of breakfast etc all happy to oblige. 10 minutes walk to light show, 10m walk to center of ancient city where most of the historical sites were. 10m walk to outside where the best food is..DO NOT eat inside the old city, food outside much better. Owner also arranged for car to take us to Wang Family compound and Shuanglian temple at much better price than I could find anywhere online. and private transfer to/from train station as well. Very happy I booked to stay at this location. Breakfast was EXCELLENT

The breakfast could be improved with fruit and adding some sweet options and tea/coffee, but it was varied and good enough for our stay (one night). Great location: quiet but right next to one of the main streets. We would likely stay here again if we come back!

They were willing to help us with any questions and organised an excellent ride from the hotel to the train station. The room is clean and comfortable with airco. PPhoenix FuSuch great experience! The staffs were super helpful, kind and friendly. You can easily tell that they were happy to help out as much as they could for us to have a better experience. The room was clean without any visible dust when we first walked in, it was so obvious that they put their heart into what they do. We also recieved snack bag upon our departure! I will definitely come back to stay with them everytime i come to pingyao!

Staff are incredibly friendly, local breakfast with plenty of veggies, and the location is right in the old city while being away from the madness of the main streets. Beds are hard but comfortable. And the courtyard, it is só so pretty, especially in the evening. 10/10, would absolutely come back and stay again.

MMisafir KullanıcıWe stayed at thos lovely hotel. Lovingly restored by the current owner Mr Wang. He is the 6th generation owner of the property. Until 10 years ago it was a derelict and dilapidated building. He poured money, time, blood, sweat and tears to restore it And it does feel and look like a traditional house. You feel you are going back in time. Firstly the customer service is way beyond the call of duty. Its so good, i would recommend staying with mr Wang at whatever hotel he runs. He picked us at the Lower East Gate, and brought us to the hotel, then took nearly half an hour to explain in great detail where we need to visit, whether the sights be in the city or outside the city. Some of his suggestions, not on the tour books were very good . For example he suggested 3 restaurants, and we avoided them thinking he was getting a kickback.on our 4th and last day we tried restaurant no 2 of his. And it was good , the food and service were good. The prices were average with other restaurants and we got a 10% discount being the hotel's guests. And remember we had eaten 10 meals by the time we came to his suggestions. Another suggestion of Mr Wang was Ma family home - also a very good tip from him. Everytime we had a request or question he always responded with enthusiasm. On our last day we checked out at 4am and he still took us to the pick up point at that ungodly hour. Yep Mr and Mrs Wang's customer service is just first class. The room was large, queen deluxe double, and the furnishings were traditional chinese furniture made of Rosewood. Very Expensive furniture for a hotel room. Shower worked well and was hot. However be aware its chinese style wet floor system ie there is no shower curtain between the shower and a small part of the bathroom does get wet if youare not careful. MR Wang said it will be one his improvement on his priority list. Hopefully by the time you booked the problem will have been resolved The hotel is very close to the main streets. About 5 min walk. The city of pingyao is worth visiting, it is one of the very walled cities left in China, with its old buildings intact and people still living it. All the city walls are also intact. Magnificent at night.

As an unexpected surprise I was picked up from the train station and offered to get brought back. In general the service has been above and beyond helping me to find my way around to the sights I wanted to see. The included breakfast was also delicious with a choice of different local dishes. The room in ancient style was clean and had all the modern amenities. The highlight was the courtyard and the view from one of the higher floors.

The atmosphere is truly authentic—you feel like you've stepped back in time. It's the perfect base for exploring this charming city. The rooms are clean and reflect the traditional style of the surroundings, adding to the overall charm. But what truly made our stay special was the staff: incredibly friendly and always willing to help. Despite the language barrier, they went out of their way to communicate with us, using translation apps and lots of patience. We felt genuinely welcomed. All in all, highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay in historic Pingyao!
