Small boutique hotel with amazing service, the people are so helpful. Shree Jana at the reception is very cheerful, she always greetings the guest whenever come in and out of the hotel. My flight was early past midnight, they gave special price to stay at the hotel till 3 hours before my departute. Breakfast also good, serves lots of fruits. Location is close to all the shops and restos.Recommended for travellers who are coming to Kathmandu and want to stay around Thamel. Thank you for all the staff at Kumari Boutique hotel.

Clean room, clean linen, clean towels. Nice owner and staff. You can also order food at the reception. There is a large store nearby. A great place to stay.

this place is value for money. well reachable and calm to do morning meditations. the person at the reception really helped a lot during the late checkin.

We knew the service would be good as soon as we booked, and within hours we received a welcome email, listing the ways we could contact them if we needed to. On the pick up at the airport, they were speedy and efficient and the taxi ride only took us 20 minutes with traffic. As we walked through the door we were blown away by the interior decoration, only then to find that hotel had been a former palace! Historic artifacts and pictures were strewn through the hallways and the outside only matched the royal feel with perfection. We stayed in the royal suite, with a big bed and balcony. The staff were great, the breakfast was standard for off peak times and although the location isn't in the depth of Thamel, the area most will go out for eating and drinking, it was within 30 minutes drive of most landmarks and as it was the ambassedy/ office worker area, there was a nice vibe. There were some things that can't be controlled. The hotel did a good job of providing heat as the weather in February is still chilly. The pollution was real. Especially as you walk nearer the streets, something to think about if you are sensitive to this. Apart from that, It was all really wonderful. Отличный отель, расположение в самом центре, но в глубине улицы, поэтому шума с улицы не было. При этом слышимость из коридора довольно высокая, но в номере есть беруши. Очень чисто, полотенца, халаты, постельное белье - все идеально белое. Воды в номер дают очень много, это плюс. Завтрак на 12 этаже с панорамным видом, красиво, приятно. Завтрак в целом нормальный, кофе неплохой, но выпечка так себе, среднего качества. Персонал милейший, очень вежливые и приветливые. Вообще забронировала этот отель в первую очередь из-за традиционного непальского стиля и не пожалела - внутри красиво и приятно.

Had a terrible experience at this hotel - booked it as a first stop in Kathmandu on arrival in Nepal, place to put my luggage while trekking and a last night before flying out of the country. There is no provision for bag check - no tag given or the like. Asked if could leave / check my bag was told yes and to leave infront of front desk. Two weeks later when I returned to the hotel bag was still in the lobby infront of front desk. Things were missing of course - none of great enough value to argue, but the fact they couldn’t even be bothered to move the bag a few feet to a closet / holding space or the like is indicative of the way this place rolls. Tried to book a shuttle for early morning to airport through hotel, listed as included service. Despite confirming and reconfirming, they arranged nothing. Instead at 5:15 AM it became a game of let’s make a deal and see how much we can charge while providing no evidence there was even a driver. In the end I gave up and carted my luggage to the street to get a taxi. Nepal is a wonderful country - this hotel was a consistent bad experience. Rooms themselves are meh - didn’t try the free breakfast, on site restaurant was pretty good, atmosphere/ food. This isn’t a cheap hotel by local standards - for the price point there are much / many options in the area.

The room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it. Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out. At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service! Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on. I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw! Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome. All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return. As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

Location is alright, there’s occasional cockroaches running past you when you are in the room, cleanliness has a lot to improve on. Worst part is that I booked a single room and was given a room next to the elevator with a window without curtain, anyone tall enough would be able to look into my room and everything in it, to add on to that, the room was next to the elevator and you can hear every footstep and noise/chat coming from the corridor, and when the elevator moves, there’s this super unnecessary music that runs with it so you would get a sense of that throughout the day and night. When I went to the receptionist to ask for a different room, she told me there’s no other rooms available and I have to pay an extra 1500 rupee to upgrade to a different room, that amount, adding with the original I paid for- would already be much higher than a standard deluxe room. Obviously she and the hotel was trying to scam me by leveraging on giving a super lousy room at first. Even though they eventually agreed to change room for me at no charge, I was honestly traumatised by this hotel and was uncomfortable through the stay. Then at check-out in the next morning, the guy was reluctant to let me go asking if I had already paid and making calls to confirm about it. Overall there’s surely better rooms for similar price in Thamel, so do try to skip this hotel unless you like some good memorable reasons to spoil your trip.

Классный отель в центре рвйона Тамель. Номера и общие помещения выполнены в нациогальном стиле - очень атмосферно. Классный панорамный ресторан на 7 этаже - вкусно, разнообразное меню на завтраке(система шведский стол), меню ресторана также разнообразное - есть и блюда местной кухни, и европейские. Очень хороший спа в отеле, единственное, что работает не до позднего вечера. Очень приветливый и гостеприимный персонал. Рекомендую

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and the service, as well as the food is excellent. The rooms however, are very old and small (we were able to change rooms after bringing this up with reception). The location is in Thamel and getting to nearby attractions is convenient
