"After a brutal time in hospital I was discharged. I wanted a night to rest recover and relax. Upon arrival I was told that work was being carried out and i can expect to hear noise from 9am. This was very disappointing to be told when checking in. It would have been preferred to been informed before I had parted with any money. I wasn’t given an option to cancel my booking without paying the charge of the full room . The room was not fully cleaned and there was some orangey oil looking spills left from the previous is booking. The housekeeping had not cleaned it up and placed towels in front of the spill in the wardrobe. This was disgusting. The towels were not fresh and had hair and bits of debris over it. I had gone to the shop and upon arrival the night reception wouldn’t let me in without declaring my name and room number due to security (understandable). But this infringed on my safety as other people were loitering outside the hotel and Could hear everything. A couple walked in following behind me into the hotel and I declared to the reception I didn’t know them. This made me feel very uncomfortable, as human trafficking is on the rise, I think better methods of verification can be found that is safe for the hotel and guests. After being woken up at 9am from the workers, I tried to get some more sleep. The housekeeping lady charged into the room without knocking at 11:30am when I had not checked out and i was due to check out at 12pm. This was a massive shock and sent me into a panic attack. She left and then I could hear her laughing and joking with the other housekeeping outside of the room. My stress and distress was exacerbated as I am unable to lock my room door from inside which means people can still enter if the pin is known or if they have a keycard. I have stayed here once before and it was nice but this time was awful. The reception were lovely though. My right to privacy and safety was completely disregarded through negligence, improper training and inappropriate conduct. I am absolutely outraged to say the least. I paid to arrive for a relaxing time…. Only to leave more stressed than I arrived."

"Friendly staff, speedy check-in, we got a spacious room with two double beds for a very good price. They provide amenities like tooth paste and razors for free on request. Everything is neat and clean. The only funny thing is that part of the shower door was removed for our room and water can get everywhere… but overall great experience!"

"I had a really lovely stay at this hotel and would happily go back. The room was spotless, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, which made it easy to actually relax. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful without being overbearing, and check-in/check-out was quick and smooth. The location was super convenient, close to everything I needed but still felt calm. Overall, great value for money and a very easy, pleasant stay."

"Arrived at 1pm to check in and was happy the room was already ready with no extra charged.Friendly staff at check in.Discount rate for guests for parking at £11 at the nearby carpark and you can go in and out as you please.Just need to scan the qr code to pay when you check out.Breakfast was basic but it came free with the room.Room was nice and clean.Would definitely stay here again if your staying with your car.Walking distance to everywhere."

"A very classy room I actually turned up slightly earlier than expected as my train was early to Birmingham. So I press to tell if I could check in early at around midday and they were more than happy to check me in however I decided to drop off my luggage and attend a meeting. The staff are very helpful and pleasant, and I had my usual additional request of having a room facing the canal. Unfortunately I was given a room on the opposite side to what I requested however went back down to the reception and the staff was so helpful in getting that sorted are they actually gave me the right room?"

"Really lovely stay at the Malmaison for a few days. The location is excellent for a Birmingham trip, great cafes, restaurants and local sites all in walking distance. Birmingham New Street station is a very short walk. We used the car park for one day when we hired a car, if you prebook it with the hotel discount it’s £20 for 24 hours. I can highly recommend Digbeth for some quirky places to eat, the jewellery quarter is lovely for a walk around too."

"A short walk away from the train station, the hotel was a little bit tricky to find it being tucked into the University Campus, but I was happy with the room as a whole. The pictures admittedly made the room appear bigger than it was, but for my stay, it was very sufficient. Comfy bed, good shower, pop-up desk for me to do work in the room."

"Perfect hotel in the centre of Birmingham. Beautifully decorated, attentive and polite staff and a super comfortable bedroom. Will be staying again."

"Bu otel harikaydı, geç geldiğimiz için saat 9'dan sonra geç giriş yapmak zorunda kaldık ama personel hizmeti muhteşemdi, çok yardımcı ve çok kibardılar, kesinlikle tekrar burada kalırım. Kahvaltı açık büfeydi, kendiniz alıyorsunuz. Tek eksik olan şey sahanda yumurtaydı ama çırpılmış yumurta vardı. Çay, kahve, sıcak çikolata makinesi vardı ve ayrıca elma suyu, portakal suyu da kendiniz alıyorsunuz. Çok sayıda personel vardı, insanların oturması için hazırlanmış temiz bir alan vardı. Kahvaltı alanı güzel ve temizdi, oda temiz ve düzenliydi. Duş ve tuvalet güzeldi. Yataklar rahattı. Çift kişilik yatak ve çekyat bulunan bir aile odasında kaldık."

"Great location. Adequate sound proofing. The breakfast is varied though a bit busy, but that’s expected. At peak breakfast time and check out only one elevator was working and it was a nightmare - especially if you had to go down with suitcases. The only negative is that the shower was super clogged."
