"A very classy room I actually turned up slightly earlier than expected as my train was early to Birmingham. So I press to tell if I could check in early at around midday and they were more than happy to check me in however I decided to drop off my luggage and attend a meeting. The staff are very helpful and pleasant, and I had my usual additional request of having a room facing the canal. Unfortunately I was given a room on the opposite side to what I requested however went back down to the reception and the staff was so helpful in getting that sorted are they actually gave me the right room?"

"Nive tavern style room with tea and coffee making facilities, above a friendly bar, good access to digbeth businesses. Very nice and helpful staff."

"I had a really lovely stay at this hotel and would happily go back. The room was spotless, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, which made it easy to actually relax. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful without being overbearing, and check-in/check-out was quick and smooth. The location was super convenient, close to everything I needed but still felt calm. Overall, great value for money and a very easy, pleasant stay."

"Friendly staff, speedy check-in, we got a spacious room with two double beds for a very good price. They provide amenities like tooth paste and razors for free on request. Everything is neat and clean. The only funny thing is that part of the shower door was removed for our room and water can get everywhere… but overall great experience!"

"After a brutal time in hospital I was discharged. I wanted a night to rest recover and relax. Upon arrival I was told that work was being carried out and i can expect to hear noise from 9am. This was very disappointing to be told when checking in. It would have been preferred to been informed before I had parted with any money. I wasn’t given an option to cancel my booking without paying the charge of the full room . The room was not fully cleaned and there was some orangey oil looking spills left from the previous is booking. The housekeeping had not cleaned it up and placed towels in front of the spill in the wardrobe. This was disgusting. The towels were not fresh and had hair and bits of debris over it. I had gone to the shop and upon arrival the night reception wouldn’t let me in without declaring my name and room number due to security (understandable). But this infringed on my safety as other people were loitering outside the hotel and Could hear everything. A couple walked in following behind me into the hotel and I declared to the reception I didn’t know them. This made me feel very uncomfortable, as human trafficking is on the rise, I think better methods of verification can be found that is safe for the hotel and guests. After being woken up at 9am from the workers, I tried to get some more sleep. The housekeeping lady charged into the room without knocking at 11:30am when I had not checked out and i was due to check out at 12pm. This was a massive shock and sent me into a panic attack. She left and then I could hear her laughing and joking with the other housekeeping outside of the room. My stress and distress was exacerbated as I am unable to lock my room door from inside which means people can still enter if the pin is known or if they have a keycard. I have stayed here once before and it was nice but this time was awful. The reception were lovely though. My right to privacy and safety was completely disregarded through negligence, improper training and inappropriate conduct. I am absolutely outraged to say the least. I paid to arrive for a relaxing time…. Only to leave more stressed than I arrived."

"The aircon system was totally sucks, it happened to numbers of rooms, even we changed the room it wasn’t help. The staff told me that the maintenance can only be conducted on weekdays (our stays in during weekends) !!!! We can’t breath while we were sleeping, no choice but to open the windows. Our room is facing to the Main Street with heavy traffic even siren sounds from police car. Luckily we just stay for 1 night. Once is enough ！"

"All staff awesome, location for utility arena brilliant just 5 minutes walk and very easy. Good selection for breakfast. Free hot drinks. My only complaint (which I didn't report) was my room smelt very fusty, not pleasant, but as I wasn't going to be in it long, didn't mention it. Other than that, room clean."

"Great location. Adequate sound proofing. The breakfast is varied though a bit busy, but that’s expected. At peak breakfast time and check out only one elevator was working and it was a nightmare - especially if you had to go down with suitcases. The only negative is that the shower was super clogged."

"Room is very basic and in excellent location for what I needed being close to family Our room had glass in the floor on arrival and the toilet seat was severely cracked which we didn’t notice until children had been put to bed and we was offered another room but swapping room wasn’t an option as the other room was on the top floor and children where already asleep , the glass was quite large chunks which had been missed as was beside the beside cabinet and I was able to pick them up myself cleanliness was ok but could be cleaner carpets wasn’t vacuumed very well , bathroom was clean but as mentioned toilet was damaged and quite dangerous and if sat on would cause damage to skin Bed was clean but possibly the worst bed I’ve ever slept in , lumpy horrendous mattress Safety is a bit of a concern as the main door to hotel is open all night and not always manned so anyone can enter and wander around which caused me some concern Over all the hotel is cheap and basic and was a clean bed for a night wouldn’t recommend for a nice stay away but suitable for a overnight cheap bed"
