"This venue was perfect. In the high altitude of Cusco, there isn’t a better option! No stairs or high hills to climb to get to this hotel and it’s only a 5 minute walk to the plaza d’armas! It’s perfect. The old architecture and design is so cool! The bed was comfy, bathroom updated, it’s a great place! We wish we knew about this place for our initial stay in Cusco!"

"This hotel is centrally located within walking distance to the markets & main plaza. The beds are comfortable. Rooms with king bed are small. The courtyard is nice. The breakfast was average to below average. The internet is free but intermittent at best. There is a nightclub nearby which plays loud music until 3:30am which makes it really difficult to sleep.
The reason I'm giving this hotel a 3 star is because of the excellent service we received from Oscar Silva Casafranca. He was courteous, efficient and always pleasant & smiling. He helped with our baggage & was quick to answer any questions or queries we had. He's a huge asset to this hotel."

"We had a wonderful stay at Hampton Hotel in Cusco. The staff were very friendly and hospitable, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. A special mention to Wilma, who went the extra mile to accommodate our request to change to a room with a queen bed instead of two standard beds—her helpfulness made a big difference.
The rooms are new, clean, and comfortable with fresh bedding, and the breakfast was very good. Overall, an excellent experience and I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Cusco."

Without exaggeration, Belmond Monasterio is the best hotel in Cusco. Even after trying two other higher-priced Belmond properties and the JW Marriott, I still firmly believe this is the ultimate choice.
The beauty of this hotel is beyond words. The elegant public spaces and tranquil gardens create an atmosphere of timeless serenity. The classic, historic walls whisper stories of the past, while the dazzling golden chapel adds a breathtaking sense of grandeur. Every detail is a masterpiece.
Yet, what truly sets Belmond Monasterio apart is its service. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Their service attitude is impeccable—perhaps the best in South America. A prime example: when I lost my credit card, they found it and returned it promptly. Compared to the Los Cabos Waldorf (which I mention due to its premium pricing), this hotel’s service is on another level—infinitely more personal, thoughtful, and heartfelt.
I would love to give special recognition to my butler, though unfortunately, I have forgotten his name.
In short, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Endless love for Belmond Monasterio.

MMisafir KullanıcıRecommend take uber or taxi to locale. The walk from Plaza Armas is approx 6 minutes but hilly and traffic both foot + car traffic is heavy. The hotel is an uphill climb as is all of the city. The doors open to a small court yard. To your left and right are schools. Just walk straight on and ring the door buzzer. They buzz the door open very promptly. If the court yard door is closed there is a door buzzer reachable from the sidewalk. Breakfast is made to order eggs, bread, good coffee + 3 types of juice. Owner + family are friendly + helpful. Room had a kettle + temperature control. Family speaks english. Enjoyed my stay.

Location wise - it’s very central with a PeruRail office next door albeit the other ones are not too far.
Reception is 24hr and there is a nice courtyard with a restaurant as well as a common area with a kitchen at the back.
I stayed in the Teepee tent on both occasions; first time the rate was more affordable at around gbp40/night. In July, the night gets cold. But the tent does have additional blankets and a heater. This worked except on the last night as it seems it stopped in middle of the night. Without the heater, the room was quite cold. The common bathroom is at the back; the showers are ok and you get enough privacy. I noticed the hot water does take a while to come through. I left the baggage in the storage - no issues. Overall good but for same price bracket I would try somewhere else.

The first 4 nights were in a studio room which is very nicely decorated with plants and flowers, the last 4 nights were in a double room with a view of the city. I enjoyed my stay in both. The checkout was very easy, I left the key and bags in my room when I left at 4.30am for the salkantay trek, and when I returned, I was immediately brought to my new room with my bags already inside, which felt really nice after a tiring 5 days. The breakfast was nice, had fresh papaya or orange juice. The location was great as well, just about 5 min walk down to the main square (about 10min up) and the first 2 streets from the main square have police officers around which made me feel safer. Also many cafe and restaurants in the streets around it. I was having diarrhoea and feeling unwell on my last day and was grateful that I could check out later to have a longer rest.

KK TravelsLet me start with the positives, stylish design, exactly like the pics advertised, from entering the hotel to the resting area to the balcony to the room, all very nice.
But you need to be ready for the stairs if you not getting here by car, going out and coming back from the square, especially if you have luggage or backpack, everyone arriving here were out of breath.
The bathroom has odor coming up from the pipe, which is normal for house this old, if you are okay with it.
I was in room 201, sound proof does not exist, can hear car passing, dog barking, guests coming back from partying at night, tourists cheering & leaving hotel for trips at 3:30am, didn’t get much sleep.
Most disappointing thing was hot water, I arrived in the afternoon climbing up the stairs, was hoping to have a quick shower before heading out for dinner, stood in the bathroom waited 5mins for hot water, was told be staff hot water was out they are trying to fix, came back after drinks, still no hot water, was very late so didn’t call staff, tried to have a shower before check out at 7am, hot water was still not available after another good 5mins standing in the shower… sigh

Also the hotel staff asked me to pay additional $55.00 as they don’t seem to have record of my arrival to Peru and I have come illegally to Peru.. I have to argue about it and finally they found my arrival details.
Breakfast is fantastic and cleanliness is good as well.. Apart from minor issues it is good..near to all amenities .

Первое - здесь нет отопления, ни одной батареи. На третий день пребывания я заболела из-за холода. Почитав отзывы, я поняла что можно попросить обогреватель, что я и сделала.
Второе - слышимость действительно сильная. Огромные щели в дверях номера. Слышно абсолютно всё - как люди приходят и уходят, смотрят телевизор , разговаривают и тд. Я часто просыпалась среди ночи, когда люди уезжали на экскурсии и хлопали дверью .
Третье - очень скудный завтрак! Буквально две булки на человека, немного масла, сыр и колбаса, джем и на маленьком блюдце подают скрембл , по напиткам чай, кофе и это весь завтрак .
Также у меня возникла проблема с завтраками для экскурсий. Я просила приготовить их для меня , но никто этого не сделал. У меня было две экскурсии и получается за два завтрака я просто выбросила деньги на ветер.
Четвертое - за 5 дней моего пребывания НИ РАЗУ не было уборки в номере, хотя я читала , что уборка ежедневная. На 4 день я спросила почему в моем номере не убирают и мне сказали, что я должна была отдать ключ от номера и тогда они бы убрались. Но мне конечно же о таких условиях никто не сказал :)
Ну и последнее , женщина , которая готовит завтраки , как мне показалось, не взлюбила меня из-за того что я не говорю по испански. При этом я видела что она была милой с другими гостями.
Я бы не советовала этот отель!

The cool thing was that my city tour that I booked on Trip.com was a crook and took my money, but never showed up for the city tour. I even went to his office, which was just 10 minutes from the hotel. Fortunately, Hotel Santa Maria has tour booking services that are reliable and reasonably priced. I believe her name was Edith, and through her I booked an enjoyable city tour and got to see everything I had wanted to. MMisafir KullanıcıIt's a very nice hotel. Excellent location, delicious breakfast. They helped me visit all the sights of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, provided an inexpensive transfer to Machu Picchu, and suggested currency exchange offices with the best exchange rate. I highly recommend the hotel.
