"I will just write my story, My flight delayed and when I arrived there was no chance to change USD to RMB I arrived at Saturday evening, my card was not working had no RMB with me. The lady in reception was kind, I told her my story she made a phone call and they agreed that I will pay on Monday, because on Saturday banks are not working. I told them that I have half of the money they said next day the banks will not work so I will need the money the receptionist said ‘no worry just use them and you will pay full on Monday’. I changed usd to RMB on Monday and payed the bill no one bothered me till Monday. About the Hotel: it’s clean, the personnel is kind and helpful. Next time: definitely Guoshi Hotel."

"The hotel was old, so the overall facilities were old, but the bed was very good and the bedding was good. The bathroom was a little uncomfortable because the shower was attached to the wall. I don't know because I didn't use the hotel breakfast, but there were many local restaurants nearby, so it wasn't too inconvenient. There was a local market near Sanba Square, so it was good to buy and eat fruits."

"Overall a good place with a bright design. Location is about 20-25 minutes walking from the train station or 15 minutes from the metro station with a direct link to the airport. It is foreigner friendly, since the friendly staff knows some English or tries to communicate via online translator. The bed was very comfortable, Aircon worked for cooling, WiFi was fast. Two minor flaws: drainage in the shower didn't work well and there was some weird smell in the room when I arrived, but nothing too serious. The breakfast is not a buffet. You'll be served a tray with some food as shown on photo. If you like chicken feet and a prawn in rice porridge for breakfast, you'll love it :) On the flip side, they push you hard to leave them a 5* review when you check out. They even have a special manual for that in several languages. This spoils the overall good impression. In any case, I can recommend this place."

"Victoria Mension was at very good location , from our room we can see the dalian city view , oriental Venice water city in dalian and the ocean view.. and is near to various tourist spots.. the room is very spacious and clean with floor to ceiling window which gives a picturist view of the surrounding... in addition, it lets in plenty of natural light during the day and the view is so calming .. the staff at the hotel are really helpfull and kind.. especially Mrs. Maggie was so kind and helpful from the moment we arrived at the hotel... and her afforts made our trip to dalian even more magical... will recommend this hotel for others to stay.. and will be looking forward to return once again.."

"Unfortunately had a frustrating stay with everything absolutely disorganised and poorly managed. Check-in took over 40 minutes, and even though I arrived well after the official 2 pm check-in time, I was told my room still wasn’t ready because it was being cleaned (the same went for most people in the queue). The lobby and public areas were constantly noisy and chaotic, with kids running around unchecked which felt more like a theme park than a hotel. Breakfast the next morning wasn’t much better as I had to wait over 20 minutes just to be seated, and by that time the atmosphere had already killed my appetite. The one real positive is the hotel’s location that gives you easy access to the metro station and most of the city’s main attractions. The property itself feels a little dated (90s luxury as you can imagine), but it’s reasonably well kept. Unfortunately the staff all seemed overwhelmed and disconnected from the front desk to housekeeping. There seemed to have no real warmth or sense of hospitality. Overall this will probably be my first and last stay at an IHG hotel."

"Although entrance is on rhe canal street and the Google map is miscalculated, it was Wirth the effort. Very stylish remodeled interior corridors , traditional ambience and amenities. Great view over the canal or X9nghai Park- it is your choice. Near windows is a little cool, and the study chair provided could be higher, but otherwise great! A superb personalized zao fan, not a generic buffet. If price is on special with trip, I'd stay again."

"The hotel is located near the beach, the windows give a beautiful view on the sea. You can find a lot of shops and good places to eat near the hotel. The reception workers are really helpful and speak really good English, so if you’re a foreigner, there won’t be difficulties in communication. The room is boy and bright with a nice bathroom and all the amenities. One thing that made me unhappy is a dirty towel and a spot on the pillowcase, but after I contacted with the reception, the problem was solved quickly"

MMisafir KullanıcıStayed here 09 nights in total, after multiple extensions. Room 207. 1. The hotel is located right smack in the middle of action. There was a street food next door, with McD, Pizza Hut and KFC all within 05 mins of walking. There was a mall with a Walmart hypermarket at the underground level nearby. It is convenient for those who stayed more than a few nights and needed to provision for work in Dalian. 2. There is a university nearby, plus a hill overlooking the Dalian city which you can conveniently walk/jog up to in the morning/evening. 3, The room is sufficiently well spaced, the bed and pillows are comfy, the lights are decently illuminant, the shower water pressure strong and the temperature hot when you need it ; the room is well decorated, there is enough work space on the table, there is a fridge ; the basin, the toilet bowl, and the shower room are independent of each other. In other words, a well thought out room layout. The lighting control is well calibrated, the central air conditioning is quiet, there is a special pop-out plug points on the table for laptops and phone charging. 4. The breakfast is good, a bit of every kind, mainly Chinese dish but some Western oriented salad style vege/fruits for those who need it. Milk is available (not something to be taken for granted in China as milk is not commonly available) 5. There is a free laundry room for use, the detergent and softener are provided free-of-charge ; iron and iron board is available as well. 6. The hotel service is tightly run by its Manager who ensure the staff are always tending as soon as possible to the customers. A special thanks to reception staff 孙晓辉 for patiently helping out with China-specific app for about 30 mins.

Only the guys at the reception speak good English and all questions had to be resolved with them, including the restaurant menu - no one in the restaurant, even with my use of a Chinese online translator, could help me with questions about the menu and when I asked the person at the reception to help me understand the menu, it turned out that the kitchen could not cook either the first course from the menu or the second. With dietary restrictions and allergies, you can die of hunger here. I consider it unacceptable to have non-English-speaking staff in a franchise of an English establishment. The cook at breakfast talks on the phone right at the place where food is prepared during breakfast. I wanted to ask him a question about the dishes on the first day - he was texting on the phone, on the second day he was directly talking on the phone. The dishes at breakfast are either not named at all or are named only in Chinese. There was no seller in the store at the hotel no matter how many times I went in to buy a T-shirt. In the end, I tried on what I was interested in at the store, chose it and went to the reception to pay for it. The next day, a salesperson appeared in the store and told me that the T-shirt I bought the day before had a 20% discount for a month, but when I paid for it, I paid it full price and thus I was deceived by 20% of the cost of the T-shirt and did not give any receipt. The pool is very small and not deep for such a huge hotel. If there is someone else in the pool besides your partner, there is not enough space. The sea near the hotel is dirty. Nothing is suitable for swimming - there are no sun loungers, there is no space on the beach specifically for the guests of the hotel. The beach is across the road from the hotel. There was only one coffee machine at breakfast and it didn't work both days. You could ask a restaurant worker for coffee. The hotel by the way has a cool energetic staff and that's nice. The room cleaning is high-quality. There are renovations going on at the hotel and guests can't use all the hotel areas.

The BF may not as many options as 4 stars hotel but definitely good enough and fresh and clean.

MMisafir KullanıcıI have used this hotel several times for business and for vacations, the location is great, the facilites too.Good room sizes fast internet, with top grade staff, they make you feel like your at home , buffet breakfast is good for all tastes , Reception staff and all other levels of staff go out of their way to help , Around half the staff speak English, in the basement there is a German style brewhouse with copper vats etc and the beer is really same as Munich, The restaurant in the basement bar has a good range of Bavarian style dishes and the resident live band plays 6 nights per week (Sundays off) Guitarist , Drummer and Singer really entertain well and play from 20:00 until 24:00 with a couple of short breaks, There is also a pool and gym, Spa and Cafe and Chinese restauarant too, Around 200 meters away is a really nice park, take the chairlift to the tower and the toboggan back down its great fun, also stroll around , see and feel the atmosphere of the various groups that use the park for walking, dancing, singing, playing card games, also Kicking large ”shuttle cocks” etc, Nearby (5 minute walk from Hotel is a large shopping complex with many eating places and shops etc, the old tram stop is around 15 minute walk and easy to use, I have used a lot of hotels in China, This one is up there with the best of them,, Its my home from home.

Hotel staff were very good and helpful. At front desk no.8 front desk girl give us all support during our stay. Hotel was located at the city center with all shopping and attractions with in 10 minutes drive. We love to stay here again. It was so comfortable and pleasant stay

The room was good, there's even a washing machine (didn't use it though). The staff was kind and helpful. Perhaps the only problem was that the room card didn't work, so I had to get a password, which also expired daily at midnight, and I had to contact the reception to get a new one. But that's not how it's supposed to be, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Overall, a great option.
