"Great location as the hotel is across JR Hakodate Station Square and just beside Hakodate Morning Market.  It is not the newest hotel but it’s straightforward and convenient.  Getting around Hakodate is easy since the hotel is in a central location. They also offer complimentary beverages to hotel guests from 1300H to 1900H daily.  My only concern with this hotel is their air condition which does not cool sufficiently. Despite setting the controls to max, our evenings were quite warm. Kindly look into this issue which I have read from other reviews.  The hotel also has a certain odour buy it was not an issue."

"La Vista Hakodate Bay exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect — within walking distance to major spots like the red brick warehouse and Mt. Hakodate ropeway. The room was clean, spacious, and had a lovely nostalgic Japanese feel. The rooftop onsen was absolutely amazing, especially with the open-air bath overlooking the night view of Hakodate. The free late-night ramen was a nice surprise! Most of all, I want to thank a female staff member who gave us the best service I’ve experienced in Japan. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful. I didn’t catch her name, but she truly made my stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!"

"Located just directly infront of Halodate station, super convenient and accessible. For those driving, do take note that there is no free parking facilities provided by the hotel. You can park at the paid public parking space directly outside the hotel."

"Otel ilk bakışta biraz uzak görünüyor (istasyondan yaklaşık 10-15 dakika yürüme mesafesinde), ancak serin ve rüzgarlı hava sayesinde kolay bir yürüyüş gibi geldi. Belki yaz ortasında veya karlı kış aylarında daha zor olabilir, ancak konaklamamız boyunca bizim için oldukça rahat ve kısa bir yürüyüştü. Oda geniş ve tertemizdi. Kanepede çarşaf ve yastıklar hazırdı, bu da 3. hatta 4. bir misafirin uyumasını kolaylaştırıyordu (rezervasyon yaparken çocuklar dahil doğru misafir sayısını belirttiğinizden emin olun). Kaplıca mükemmeldi - temiz, geniş ve gerçek kaynak suyu vardı. Ayrıca odada çamaşır makinesi (kendi deterjanınızı getirin) ve mini mutfak da var, ancak yemek pişirme gereçlerini resepsiyondan ödünç almanız gerekiyor, misafirler kullandıktan sonra bunları temizlemeli. (Sos verilmiyor) Kahvaltı çok iyiydi, ancak tek olumsuz yanı 40 dakikalık süre sınırı. Personelin çoğu nazik ve güler yüzlüydü, ancak resepsiyondaki bir kadın ve kahvaltı alanındaki bir erkek personel pek misafirperver değildi. Genel olarak, burayı küçük bir mutfağı ve düzgün bir onsen'i olan geniş bir oda isteyen ailelere tavsiye ederim. Rezervasyon yaptırırsanız kesinlikle kahvaltı planını seçin."

"2nd time staying here. Convenient location, near JR train station & bus station. Within walking distance to nearest tram stop. Travelling to airport & places of interest is not a hassle. Hotel allows extension of check-out hours."

"The room size is just nice for 3 pax, but if open all luggages, will have minimal walking space to toilet. Location is near to train station and market. There is parking available beside the hotel though need to pay 700 yen per day. The room that we got however comes with some issues: 1) there is no heater within the room and the air conditioner can't be set to a temperature that is suitable for us. It only has low, medium, high settings for air conditioner and it is cold air. 2) the toilet drainage has issue too, after showering, the water flooded the whole floor outside the bath tub. The good thing is after reporting the flooding issue, the receptionist send a service man to repair the chokage immediately. The next day the reception also pass us a portable heater to keep ourselves warm."

"If you are driving, you can park your car at the parking area right beside the hotel. At the front desk, exchange your parking ticket for a free pass with you can use to enter and exit the parking area for free-of-charge throughout your stay. The parking will cost 1000yen/night, which you have to pay upfront when you check-in. Overall, it was a beautiful and comfortable hotel which is near to the Hakodate Bay and the Morning Market. The hotel offers a complimentry onsen for all stayers."

"The hotel was big and a bit of old design. But they do keep all the rooms and facilities function well so no worry, ample parking space. They even have a room with all the amenities you can just take and use it, for other hotel in Japan normally this amenities are just a counter but this hotel they provide you a room full of comics, pillow, bathrobe, warmer, bolster and etc. Must book the hotel with their buffet breakfast, you won't regret. So much choices and they serve sashimi for breakfast as well, how amazing. Really enjoying staying here."

"Not sure whether it’s during long holidays, or it’s normal. But I expected much better service for this type of hotel. So I was so disappointed when I didn’t feel like it. First, I carried a lot of stuffs. I asked for concierge, yes there was a luggage cart, but I need to carry all by myself up to my room, using a small and old with impaired wheels cart. Second, full of tourists. Onsen was so full too. So I need to hurry took a bath, a few minute in the onsen, then go back to my room. Not relax at all. Third, such a long queue breakfast. There were 2 types of breakfast for us to choose. Never seen like this before, but we need to get a queue, for 30-60 minutes waiting. If I knew that there was a queue for hotel breakfast, I would definitely went down to get the queue before packing my luggage. Who will know that it would be like this. It’s my really first time to wait for 1 hour to have breakfast. Lastly, I was so tired and want the massage, so I booked one. Not sure whether it’s normal for Japanese style or not, but compared to Thai massage and Korean massage, I shouldn’t have paid for it . Too expensive but not help at all. I came back to my room to acupuncture myself instead. Luckily that I stayed 2 hotels in Hakodate, so I moved to another hotel on the next day and feel much better. Oh, a few things I like about this hotel. 1. The pictures along the way to another wing (during my walk to onsen). There were beautiful 2. A rental car place in front of hotel, during my waiting for breakfast queue, I walked there and found a good price car rental."

"The location was strategic, located at main street of the town, walking ditance to starbucks coffee, Muji, Goryokaku Tower and Goryokaku Park. Tram Station right infront of the hotel, able to visit few tourist sort using the tram, Natural foot onsen, morning g market and JR Hakodate station. Bus Stop to Hakodate Airport is just 1mins walk from hotel entrance."
