"We just came here without many informations about this hotel, but their hospitality from staffs was Really Really great. I felt like I was staying 5+star hotel from their kindness.
Picked up by hotel car, free sauna, free to use mini bar, great balcony view considering the cost of staying, and also took us to the station again when we left.
I would strongly recommend this hotel, and there is also sister hotel named Hotel Daniela probably also great guessing from my experience from Hotel Chesa Valese.
Hope everything well to the hotel family and staffs.

"超出預期！我們因為是一家三口，訂的是山景套房，是頂樓的套間，一個沙發展開的雙人床，加上原來的雙人床，其實可以睡四個人了！而且還有可直接看到馬特洪峯的陽台，而且還有個舒適的鞦韆椅，也可以看到小鎮全景，很贊啊！雖然傢俱並不是那麼嶄新的現代風格，也沒有空調，但全zermatt小鎮上應該都是如此。住得非常舒適！
價格也不貴，比起前面幾個城市的高價格（可能是因為剛好碰上了2025女足歐洲盃，大城市的酒店都不便宜）感覺太值了！酒店位置離火車站400米吧，其實也就是慢慢步行不到十分鐘的路程。對了，前台也非常友好，各種細節都考慮到了，我的蹩腳英文完全好溝通:）
Beyond expectations! Since we are a family of three, we booked a mountain-view suite on the top floor. There is a double bed that can be unfolded from a sofa, plus the original double bed, so it can actually accommodate four people! Moreover, there is a balcony with a direct view of the Matterhorn, and a comfortable swing chair where you can also see the panoramic view of the town. It's really great! Although the furniture is not in a brand-new modern style and there is no air conditioning, this should be the case throughout Zermatt town. The stay was very comfortable!
The price is not expensive either. Compared with the high prices in the previous cities （maybe because it coincided with the 2025 Women's European Football Championship, and the hotels in big cities were not cheap）, it feels really worthwhile! The hotel is about 400 meters away from the train station, which is actually a slow walk of less than ten minutes. By the way, the front desk staff were very friendly and considerate in all aspects, and my poor English didn't hinder communication at all. :）"

"這家酒店簡直是我們的lucky酒店！我們在這裏結束了瑞士的悽風苦雨，終於看到了馬特洪峯！這家酒店自己本身也很棒，室內的佈置和設計，都很小巧思地用了馬特洪峯的元素，而且我們昨天晚上六七點才臨時預訂，前台小姐姐給我們升級了房型，房間好大，還帶一個大陽台，房間有免費的咖啡和茶，她們家的早餐也很棒，因為早上趕着去上山，都沒有拍照片，但早餐非常豐富，草莓、獼猴桃等各種新鮮水果，培根、烤腸等剛煎好的肉食，還有西蘭花、蘑菇等蔬菜，以及各種麪包，果汁牛奶，甚至是可以鮮榨橙汁，還可以去吧枱點一杯卡布奇諾，總之就是能吃的很滿足了！最最最棒的就是這家酒店還有接送服務，本來我們要拖着大箱子走十幾分鍾去火車站，小車車直接就送我們去啦，幾分鐘，超快就到了！我保證，下次來采爾馬特，絕對還住這家！"

"先説優點吧：觀看馬特洪峯的絕佳view point，露台外面就能看到，在餐廳吃早餐也能看到，視野非常好。房間距離火車站步行大概10分鐘，拖着行李箱走還是有點吃力，不過退房去車站時有免費taxi接送～
再説其他感受就是，房間好小…早餐種類很少，尤其是住完sunstar後，早餐的落差有點明顯。此外，大門有點難找，要上幾級樓梯走一條走廊才到，那天到了采爾馬特好累了搬行李上樓梯有嗲痛苦。
總之推薦指數三星半。"

"Good! Overall recommended! Location is good, need some walking from station but manageable with 1 luggage.
Hotel is directly opposite cemetery but don’t think too much and u be fine! Room is small but cozy (my photo is wide angle so seem bigger)
Hotel is very helpful to help pack a breakfast bento for me as I be leaving before breakfast hours (just inform the day before). I also managed to keep luggage after checkout at the common area (no lock and key) and retrieve it later."

"the location is good, located near the cable car up the matterhorn! we were given a room located in the annex building, which you have to go out into the open before assessing (q inconvenient..). there were also limited amenities (no kettle, no soap etc). the breakfast tho.... was worth it! "Hotel is approximately 10mins walk from Zermatt train station. There is a bus stop to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car station about 4mins away from the hotel, very convenient. The hotel gave us a free upgrade during our stay and the view from the balcony was amazing! The pool and sauna facility looked great but didnt had a chance to try. Highly recommend this hotel going to Zermatt!"

"Beautiful hotel!! Even though hotel was a few streets away from the station BUT free shuttle service is available. Hotel service was so good including free consultation on activity planning in Zermatt. Would definitely go back to this hotel if I’m coming back to Zermatt in future!!"

MMs 1Everything is excellent. I was very impress by the view of Matterhorn. I will strongly recommend to my families and friends to stay at Alpen Resort & Spa. There are lots of indoor activities and facilities to enjoy.

HHarmonickFor a truly memorable stay in Zermatt, look no further than the Traditional Julen Hotel. We travelled throughout Switzerland, and the view from our Matterhorn room was hands down the best we experienced. Waking up to that iconic peak every morning was simply breathtaking.
The service at the Julen is impeccable. The staff is incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to meet every need we had, making us feel truly welcome. Speaking of needs, be sure to grab a bite at their downstairs restaurant. The food is excellent, though the space is a little on the cozy (some might say claustrophobic) side. Don't let that deter you, though - the culinary experience is well worth it.
Overall, the Traditional Julen Hotel is a fantastic choice. Splurge on the Matterhorn room for an unforgettable view, and rest assured knowing you'll be taken care of by a truly exceptional team. Highly recommended!

IIzzaPizzaThoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The excellent service rendered by the staff made our honeymoon much sweeter. Everyone was friendly, kind and always willing to help. Room was really nice and the extra sauna and open concept bathtub was a nice surprise! Breakfast spread was super delicious as well. Facilities like the wellness area include foot bath, infrared chairs, jacuzzi etc.

We arrived at about 1pm and were informed that check-in was only at 2pm so we went for lunch and returned at around 2.30pm. We were greeted by Ruth, the proprietress of the hotel, who gave us a comprehensive briefing of the house rules and policies. Ruth was very warm, friendly, and charming; she was very guest-focused and was happy to find out more about where we were from and what we planned to do. Ruth even gave us recommendations for Bern when we told her we were going there next.
Although the hotel is stated to be 4 stars, we were very impressed by the room and the amenities. The bathroom came with a bidet and the toiletries provided were of good quality. The room was also very spacious with enough room to open up 2 luggage bags. The towels and robes were thick, warm, and fluffy.
The breakfast provided in the morning was also quite good with a decent selection of breads, cold cuts, cheese, and eggs.

All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Matterhornlodge and we were very impressed by Ruth’s hospitality.

MMic HThis is the best hotel for our whole Switzerland trip, my wife loves this hotel a lot and so do I. This is a quite quiet hotel but with everything you need. They have spa facilities and it’s very modern design and a relax area after a day. We also visited the bar, the lady worked in the bar is friendly and professional, she recommend with the house red wine, you shouldn’t miss it. It’s one of the best wine I had. Don’t miss this hotel if you visit zermatt. We will return in summer time.

TTraveljuThe hotel is perfect. At first when I look at the photos, I thought it would be a cozy small wooden room which is a little bit worn out. But no! Everything is so new and clean. The location is perfect! Center of everything! Breakfast got a wide range of choices too. Staff are nice. One downside of the hotel is that for me, the pillow is wayyy too flat. I have to put the towels from the bathroom under the pillow. Other than that, perfect!

Nestled high above Zermatt, the Riffelhaus 1853 is accessible via the Gornergrat railway, making the journey itself an adventure. Once you arrive, you’re greeted by panoramic mountain views in every direction, with the iconic Matterhorn standing proudly in front of you. The setting is perfect for ski-in/ski-out access in winter and stunning hiking trails in summer.
Rooms – 9/10
The rooms are cozy, modern, and well-equipped while still maintaining a classic Swiss alpine charm. Many rooms come with Matterhorn views, and waking up to this scenery is an experience in itself. The beds are comfortable, and the rustic wooden decor gives a warm, welcoming feel. Some rooms have balconies, which I highly recommend booking for the full experience.
Service – 9/10
The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. Despite the hotel’s remote location, the service is top-notch, with staff going out of their way to accommodate special requests. From seamless check-in to helpful local recommendations, they make the stay even more special.
Dining – 8.5/10
The on-site restaurant serves delicious Swiss cuisine, including traditional dishes like fondue and rösti. The breakfast is generous, featuring fresh bread, cheeses, meats, and eggs cooked to order. The only downside is that, due to the remote location, dining options are limited to the hotel restaurant, but the quality makes up for it.
Wellness & Spa – 10/10
The outdoor hot tub with a view of the Matterhorn is an absolute highlight! There’s also a sauna and steam bath, perfect after a day of skiing or hiking. Soaking in the warm water while surrounded by snow-capped peaks is an experience worth every penny.
Activities – 10/10
Winter: Perfect for skiing, as the hotel is directly on the slopes. The ski room is convenient, and the access to the Gornergrat ski area is unbeatable.
Summer: Incredible hiking trails with direct access to the Gornergratbahn for easy excursions to higher altitudes.

NNYTravelsWe love the hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. The view from the balcony of our room gave us a clear view of the Matterhorn. The hotel is easily accessible from the Zermatt train station and the Town centre .
We loved the room allocated and found it extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed the sumptuous breakfast buffet which was pretty extensive.
Staff was really pleasant and helpful at all time. Our receptionist even escorted us to the room by stairs because their lift was not functional when we checked in.
The only regret was that we were unable to utilise the sauna and swimming pool facilities due to time constraints.
Will highly recommend the hotel to those who are looking for value for money stays whilst in Zermatt.

Service at front counter is excellent! Courteous, friendly and informative. Also we got upgraded! Room is clean and spacious and has a balcony. On going renovation next door during our stay in Oct 2024.
Resort has 2 restaurant at the hotel but one apparently requires reservation and has seating time. We were famished when arrived at the restaurant at 8pm, but were told to come back at 830pm for second seating. Such a disappointment when the front counter service was excellent. Had dinner at the pub instead, food wasn’t too bad.
Spa facilities was great. Would stay at the same Ola e again. Value for money
