"Hotel room is new and clean. Breakfast have variety of food, we enjoyed so much and happy with the breakfast. Advise to check in earlier to get your preferable time slot, they control it by every half an hr, you need to choose your bf slot for the next day. Not very close to Otary Station but still walking distance, not too bad actually only like 7 mins walk. Very near to Canal, we start the day at Canal and ended in Music Box Meseum. Overall enjoy the stay, we rest well and had good sleep here."

"My first visit to Otaru was truly unforgettable, all thanks to my experience at this wonderful hotel! Located just a pleasant 20-minute drive from Otaru Station, the hotel is nestled in a tranquil, private area that feels like stepping into a captivating wonderland. I was delighted to discover a bus stop right across from the hotel, making it effortlessly convenient to explore the surroundings. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly by name, and they were incredibly helpful with our luggage. Taking off our shoes upon entering the hotel created a feeling of comfort and cleanliness that made us feel right at home. After a smooth check-in process, during which they confirmed our breakfast time, the staff graciously guided us through the hotel, sharing helpful information about opening hours for various amenities. Our room was beautifully adorned in traditional Japanese style, complete with an open-air bath. Enjoying this serene experience during the winter was simply magical! We also savored a delectable Kaiseki dinner in our room, which was not only a feast for our taste buds but also left us delightfully satisfied. The onsens were a real highlight, featuring an adjacent sauna. With daily alternating access for women and men every other day, we were able to enjoy both during our stay. Families will find this hotel exceptionally accommodating, thanks to its variety of playrooms and relaxation spaces catering to guests of all ages. Plus, the complimentary refreshments and bar in the lobby until 10 PM added a lovely touch to our experience. Breakfast was a true delight, with a peaceful view of the snow outside the restaurant, enhancing the serene atmosphere. On our departure day, the hotel thoughtfully arranged a shuttle bus to take us to the JR station, making our exit seamless and convenient. Looking back, our only regret is that we stayed just one night—I can't wait to return and immerse myself in a different season's beauty. This hotel is now firmly on my list for future visits, and I’m already looking forward to the next adventure!"

"We stayed at Grids Premium Otaru as a family of three in a room with three beds, and the space was very good by Japanese standards. We loved the vibes of this new hotel — the lobby is very cozy, and the overall atmosphere made our stay extremely comfortable. The location is excellent, within walking distance from Otaru Station, Otaru Canal, and nearby attractions. From our room, we enjoyed beautiful scenery overlooking the Otaru Canal and the sea. It was snowing during our stay, which made the view even more magical and memorable. The room is well equipped with a good air system, allowing us to choose between heating or air conditioning. The windows can be opened slightly for ventilation, which we really appreciated. The beds were soft and very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s rest for all of us. The shower, toilet, and sink are all separated, which made it very convenient for everyone to use. We also enjoyed the onsen in the hotel. Although it is small, it feels cozy and relaxing. The outdoor onsen is a highlight — open to the sky, allowing us to enjoy the falling snow at the same time. Access to the onsen is secure, as the doors only open when tapped with the correct men’s or women’s room card, which made us feel safe and reassured. The hotel also provides practical facilities, including two washer-and-dryer machines and two microwaves on Level 1, which were very convenient during our stay. A Lawson convenience store is located right next door, making it easy to grab snacks or necessities anytime. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay here and would highly recommend Grids Premium Otaru, especially for families looking for a comfortable, well-located, and modern hotel in Otaru."

"Had a very enjoyable stay at Granbell Hotel in Japan. The hotel is clean, pleasant, and has a comfortable atmosphere, which made the whole experience relaxing. The staff were consistently nice, polite and very helpful whenever assistance was needed. The lobby and common areas felt well-maintained, and the overall environment was welcoming. One particularly convenient feature is the hotel’s water dispensers, offering free-flow cold and room-temperature water, which was great for refilling bottles throughout the day. Overall, it is a hotel worth recommending and one to consider staying at again in the future."

"The location is not at the central Otaru but it is about 15 minutes drive to the central attractions. Service is not the best. Check-in strictly at 2pm. Arrived close to 1pm but was told cannot check-in and need to wait until 2pm. Came back at 1.40pm still told the same statement to wait until 2pm. The upside is the hotel is directly connected to AEON mall. Don't expect much from the AEON. There are around 6-7 eateries only. You can buy some fresh stuff if you like. There is post office in the AEON mall which you can mail you things back. Parking in the hotel is not free. Chargeable at ¥1,650 per day with multiple entry allow. Breakfast option is not great. You can get better food outside for the pricing unless it is included in the room package."

"This hotel is located at higher point of Otaru. You can enjoy the scenery, the coldness and the quietness. Do include breakfast and dinner. Dinner is very romantic if you going with yr girl friend. She will be impressed Lunch can be arranged in the town. You can arranged transport with the hotel. Not to come back late"

"Hotel Nord Otaru is just next to Otaru Canal, very convenient location. Especially wanted to choose this lovely hotel which I stayed 10 years ago in year 2015 with my family of 5 person. Booked to stay 3 nights in 2 rooms,one with Otaru Canal view and another with city view. Breakfast is considered good and satisfactory, with snowy canal view.Although is an old classic hotel but is nostalgic to me, clean and well-maintained. Staff service is good but please note one of my room somehow came with no cleaning room service,additional charge 500 yen per day to clean it. For my another room that has daily room cleaning service, just make sure remember to place outside the door knob, the hanging door card requiring room cleaning,else they will not clean.All is clearly explained by staff and also stated in a note given on the day when you checked into your room. Overall, I am happy with the stay and will come back same hotel again."

"Great staff and amazing restaurant/bar. Cheong the manager was exceptionally friendly and helpful as were the older cleaning ladies.Breakfast average but with a great view. Husband loved the onsen. The only bad things for me were the fact we had to pay for parking.. not always near the hotel, and the bed for me was very uncomfortable. Otherwise nice food in the restaurant and reasonable restaurants around :)"

"The breakfast is very nice, and the price is reasonable. The staff is helpful and sincere as well. The room space is good, with the toilet and bathroom separate. I love the lounge with traditional decoration and music boxes."
