"I think we can all agree that the sole purpose of staying at this hotel is to gain immediate access to the Wall as soon as it opens in the morning. I guarantee you that this is the best way to experience the Wall without the crowds and you will have a greater chance to be able to capture shots of the Wall without anyone in your pictures. Your ticket for the Wall is included in the booking. The Hotel really is just a one nighter. I would not stay here longer as it provides the bare bones of a hotel. I would rate it three diamonds at most, not four. The room is spacious and warm, that's definitely a positive in winter. However, you do have to carry your luggage up and down the stairs when arriving and departing so beware if you have a dodgy back! There is an elevator but it only takes you from the parking lot to the lobby and not the rooms. One huge surprise for us was how delicious the dinner was at the hotel's restaurant. We were the only guests and they cooked everything from scratch for us. The breakfast (also served by the restaurant) was included in the booking and it was not quite to our taste but the staff had a cheerful disposition and were so kind and welcoming that we probably had a few more mouthfuls just to show our appreciation even if the food was not to our Western palate. Our trip was during the off peak season and the Wall opened at 8am. However, the breakfast started at 8am as well. I would recommend the breakfast be open 30 minutes before the Wall opened, otherwise guests will rush their breakfast, leading to some wasted food. The hotel advertises a transfer service from the airport but after making the booking we contacted the hotel on the Trip app and were told they do not offer this service so we had to arrange a Didi which was quite expensive, so please keep this in mind when making your booking."

"高山滑雪中心這都是第三年來了，去年也來了好幾次，今年是連住的。前台服務真的很好很好，這次趕上調房價，所以我們事情就多了一些，每次麻煩前台，他們都特別耐心和態度特別好地為我們解決問題，還都特別高效和超預期。去年來給我印象最好的是車場保安，沒想到今年還見到了。擺渡車司機我們還聊天來着。今年真是超預期，下一個冬天我們還來。美中不足的是雪燕廳的翻譯，每處都不統一，有的地方是拼音，有的地方是英文，還有一處中文寫的是雪雁廳，還有一處英文拼寫一個詞中間空格了。這個希望能改一下，既然是國家得顏面，這中低級的錯誤還是應該更改一下。下完雪的海坨山太美了，海坨水墨，果然名不虛傳，特別夢幻。"

"We really liked the hotel, it’s close to the Great Wall, has everything you need, very instagramable☺️ we were traveling with 2 kids, booked a room with a slide and a trampoline, they were happy! The room was a little dirty, the tap was broken, but it’s just something for the hotel to pay attention to. The breakfasts were very unusual for our kids, so we had to order food from the restaurant. In general, the staff were friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend the place!"

Kahvaltı tam bir açık büfe değildi ama makuldü, Çin yerel tarzı kahvaltı ve Batılılar beğenmeyebilir. Çok erken çıkmanız gerekmiyorsa, sabah 10 civarında açılan alışveriş merkezinde yemek yemeniz daha iyi olur diye düşünüyorum. Duşun su giderinden biraz koku geliyor. Sigara içilmesine izin verilmemesine rağmen sigara kokusu alabiliyoruz. Birçok otelde otelin kontrolü dışında olan benzer sorunlar yaşandı."

"moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel incredibly welcome. The GRO, Holiday, was especially helpful and always attentive to our needs throughout our stay. All the staff were brilliant with both us and our children – a special thank you to Adam, who went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt at home. Bubble was also amazing with the kids, and they absolutely adored the Mini Club! The activities were engaging and fun, and Nindi not only ran great sessions with the children but also looked after us so well outside of Mini Club too. The food was excellent – with a great variety of both Chinese and Western dishes to suit all tastes. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already booked again to celebrate my birthday. Highly recommended for families!"

"Our experience has been excellent. My girlfriend fractured her ankle while skiing. The hotel staff were attentive and offered all the assistance we needed during the stay. We were Singaporean and hence needed help to make some arrangements with the Beijing airport and airline. The hotel staff stayed with us throughout to resolve some of the barriers we faced, such as language and making local calls. Another great amenities were delivery services where you could just order food from ******* and the hotel will deliver it to your room using a robot. Room was clean and huge with windows. Air conditioning and heater were working well. Shower water pressure was great. Location was good if you planned to ski in Nanshan ski resort. It's about 10_15mins by car or didi. Overall, it is a hotel I strongly recommend and will surely come back if I'm in Miyun."

"Great apartment. Everything you need is there already, like soap, toothbrush, toilet paper etc, but there is also everything you need to do some simple cooking- very useful! The location was perfect, a 10 minute walk to taxi drop off (the whole town is pedestrianised) and about 5 minutes to Simatai Great Wall ticket entrance and the entrance to Gubei water town attraction. Good restaurants about 5 minutes away too and they are cheap. The apartment is cosy and there are 3 balconies to choose from if you want to relax in the sun! This would also be a very safe and comfortable place to stay with young children. I was very happy that the host also provided a lot of drinking water. It's useful to know that the apartment is inside a bigger apartment complex, just enter through the first gate as you approach from the town and maybe add the host on WeChat before you arrive so you can communicate easily. There are lots of small shops selling food and drinks nearby. The back balcony has a dreamy view of the Great Wall. Enjoy!"

"I don’t even know where to start? To find such an incredible hotel so far from the city is like finding an oasis in a desert. Hampton by Hilton’s Changping branch is so many things but it would be none of them if not for the absolutely unforgettable staff. Most notable of all was Colin, one of the first faces you will meet when checking-in. He was the one who welcomed us last year and one of the reasons why we returned this year. We were quite lost last year and could not even hail a cab correctly and this young gentleman was there to help, multiple times. He will always think of ways to go the extra mile and so too will so many of his colleagues. There is not one frown to be found on everyone’s faces; the team are cheerful, energetic, friendly, very well put-together and truly make you feel welcomed and appreciated. This is beyond professional, this level of hospitality and customer service is something we never expected but is one of the reasons why we will return to Hampton by Hilton year after after.
