"I recently spent five nights (four days) at this wonderful property, and overall, it was an outstanding experience. The Hospitality The highlight of the stay was undoubtedly the host. He was incredibly hospitable and always on hand to assist us at a moment's notice. Whether we needed extra amenities or a quick replacement for something in the room, he dealt with it immediately. Furthermore, his local knowledge was invaluable; he provided excellent recommendations for sightseeing and dining, and he went above and beyond to help resolve a few personal issues we encountered during our trip. The Location The location is perfect—smack-bang in the middle of everything. Because it is so centrally located, you have attractions to both the left and the right, meaning nothing is ever too far away. It serves as a brilliant base for exploring the area. Points to Note While I would still give this stay a full 10/10, there are a few things to be aware of: Noise Levels: Due to the stunning views, the property is quite exposed to the sounds of the local traffic and passing cruises. There was also some ongoing construction noise nearby, which is understandable given the area's development, but it’s worth noting if you are a light sleeper. Facilities: The laundry facilities are a bit limited, with only one small washing machine available. A couple more machines would definitely be a welcome addition for guests . Summary Despite the minor noise issues, the place is absolutely awesome. The warmth of the host and the convenience of the location far outweigh any downsides. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!"

"Friendly and helpful staff, location very convenient to walk around the ancient town. They are very helpful to source for a large capacity ebike for me so I can travel to multiple places hazzle free. For elderly please request for a ground floor room if possible so you don't have to climb the staircase. Lastly I hope they can fix the WiFi issue."

"My stay at the Aquarium Hotel was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, I felt immersed in an underwater paradise. The design of the hotel, with its floor-to-ceiling aquariums, was breathtaking. Watching vibrant marine life swim by from the comfort of my room was truly mesmerizing. The room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with thoughtful details like soft, ocean-inspired lighting and comfortable furnishings. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, and the views of the underwater world made it hard to leave the room! Highlights: Mermaid show and feeding time esp for the sharks"

"I was looking for a place close to the three pagodas, and still in the ancient town of Dali. This place is only 800 meters or so away from Chongsheng Temple and the three pagodas sites. Lots of restaurants and shops around. As soon as I arrived, the owner upgraded my room. He speaks very good English. He is a very friendly person. In the morning, he recommended a few places to visit.i have extended my stay one more night. The place is very clean and up on the roof level you see the tallest pagoda and rhe beautiful mountains, Erhai lake. It is a wonderful place to stay and I can recommend it. I'd stay here again."

"Had a wonderful stay at Mengling Yayuan Hotel in Dali from 19 to 21 December 2025. The staff were exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make my visit memorable—from a smooth check-in to thoughtful local recommendations, their hospitality truly stood out. The room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with modern amenities that made the stay both comfortable and convenient. I especially enjoyed the daily local breakfast options of noodles or congee, the relaxing afternoon tea, and the delicious desserts served in the evening. As we had an early checkout, the staff thoughtfully prepared a takeaway breakfast for our onward journey, which was greatly appreciated. Perfectly located just a few metres from the entrance to Dali Old Town, the hotel offers an ideal base for exploring the area. Mengling Yayuan Hotel beautifully blends traditional charm with modern comfort, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for its warm service and excellent facilities."

"Hilton Garden Inn's location in Dali cannot be beat. It is short drive away from several major tourist attractions (all except for the boat tour of Erhai lake, which is located near Dali station which is 30 minutes away). The view outside of my room was beautiful and I was happy to wake up everyday. However, the sun was really bright when I stayed there. The hotel surprised me with how advance it is: automated interior lighting, automatic toilet, robot delivery, automatic blinds. The only drawback was the breakfast, which is largely vegetarian based. You can sort of make your own meal with all the ingredients, but I wished it was a bit more sumptuous. The gym was on the small side. I did not use it during my stay."

"The hotel is strategically located, near Dali Railway Station. Next to Erhai Lake. You can go for a walk in the evening or jog in the morning for those who like to exercise. Staff sre friendly and helpfull."
