"The room is clean but the bathroom is quite smelly. The area is very close to the ancient city. It’s just that we don’t like Dali at all. It’s very touristy, there’s not much things to do apart from being surrounded by a lot of shops and people. We are staying at the inn for 24 hours before departing back to our country. But I would suggest people who visits Yunnan for nature experience to skip Dali altogether. It’s even much busier than Lijiang."

"Okay if you’re looking for serenity, and budget friendly hotel but make it SANTORINI feelings, this is the hotel. 1. They have a really cute pretty amazing cat!!! Which i love!!!!! I came down at the lobby just to play with the cat. The cat’s name is YUMK. 2. The service is a top-notch. The receptionist is so friendly, and welcoming. Though we speak different languages, but they are very accommodating. Thank you so much, really appreciate it. 3. The view??? OMG, superb!!!!!! With automatic curtain, once you wake up from your bed, just press the remote button it opens automatically, you’ll get the best view ever! 4. Toilet has bidet which is a plus point for us Malaysian! 5. Only downside, toilet was not clean up to my standards, that can be improved. Overall, i love this place with such a nice receptionist, welcoming Yumi cat, and nice view, and great price, what more could i ask for. It’s 1 hour away from the Ancient City Dali. Just take note. 5 mins away from the Santorini Dali where u can get Chagee and all, but if you know how to use the Scooter they provide the rental service , so thats fine,"

Service was thoughtful: afternoon tea, evening soup with fruit, and a hearty breakfast. The host went above and beyond—waiting for us even when we returned late, and helping carry our bags up and down despite no elevator. It truly felt like staying at a friend’s home, with genuine hospitality throughout. Highly recommended for a heartfelt, comfortable stay in Dali. A quick note: if you don’t speak Chinese, communication might be a bit challenging since the host doesn’t speak English."

"We decided to run away from the busy Dali area and stay one night in Xizhou. Best decision ever. The village itself is amazing, we walked around the village and also visited the lakeside. The hotel is an old mansion and it’s very well kept considering it has more than 500 years. The room is super spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. I would love to visit again!"

"Had a wonderful stay at Mengling Yayuan Hotel in Dali from 19 to 21 December 2025. The staff were exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make my visit memorable—from a smooth check-in to thoughtful local recommendations, their hospitality truly stood out. The room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with modern amenities that made the stay both comfortable and convenient. I especially enjoyed the daily local breakfast options of noodles or congee, the relaxing afternoon tea, and the delicious desserts served in the evening. As we had an early checkout, the staff thoughtfully prepared a takeaway breakfast for our onward journey, which was greatly appreciated. Perfectly located just a few metres from the entrance to Dali Old Town, the hotel offers an ideal base for exploring the area. Mengling Yayuan Hotel beautifully blends traditional charm with modern comfort, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for its warm service and excellent facilities."

"Boss helped us with our baggages. Boss gave us snacks and yogurt. It was raining heavily and the room have projector to play movies. We ended up staying in the room during our whole stay because it is sooooo comfortable. Air conditioning works well. I have zero complaint!"

CCynLowAn absolute welcoming place to stay. Host are friendly and helpful. Not forgetting all the super hosts of 14 cats and 2 dogs (new addition puppy named ah fu). Rooms are nicely set up with smaller details in place eg: hot water dispenser, jumbo sized humidifier, etc) Location is tucked in an alley 2 mins walk away from main road. Easy 10 mins walk to gucheng. Everywhere else can be didi easily. Played with ah fu a little before saying goodbye to this lovely place. Please stay healthy to all my fur friends

If you are coming to Dali and is overwhelmed by the sheer amount of hotels, just book this one. Why? Let’s dive in. 1) Location: 10/10. Just at the beginning of the famous S-bend along the ecological corridor and half distance to Dali Ancient City and Xi Zhou Ancient City. Both 10km away. Away from crowds but close enough to sightseeing places. Easy to get a didi. 2) View: 10/10. The er hai Seaview is your window in the room, frameless full glass. Best part, watch the sun rises each morning at the comfort of your bed.. Trust me, the view is incredible. 3) Room comfort: 10/10. The decor is 5 stars luxe. Full glass bathrooms, lush bedding, hansgrohe shower systems, 50 inch TV, built in air conditioning, automated toilet, smart home system. What can you asked for. Even the bath towel is Ritz-Carlton standard. 4) Service: 20/10. Yes 20/10. They have exceeded the golden standard. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, their service is nothing short of amazing. They appear when you need them and you won’t see them when you need privacy. I think they are not trained to say ‘no’ to your request. I am surprised they served us dessert to our room without us requesting for it. 5) Amenities: 10/10. A whole fridge of beverages and beer and ice creams at your disposal. Help yourself anytime of the day at absolutely zero costs. Bring the whole fridge home if you want. 6) Breakfast: 8/10. Mini buffet style and I must say it’s good for China standard. The only downside is the breakfast area, small and noisy. For the price we paid, it is a clear bargain for the hotel.

She will prepare homecooked mixian for her guests in the morning, which is very delicious and we immediately fall in love with the mixian. The environment is very zen, you can see her cat is trying to play with the fishes in the pond. We enjoyed our stay, regardless of the weather sunny day or raining day. We stayed different places in our trip to Yunnan, and we rated this place is the best place we ever stayed throughout the trip. Dali Ancient City is opposite of the main road, reachable within walking distance. You can even rent motorbikes and ride to Ancient City from the shops.

RRenee_1101Dali echo field is located at a very convenient spot, it’s about 5 mins walk away from the famous S wan, er hai, and about 10mins car ride from the ancient city. There are many eateries and bubble tea shops nearby this accommodation. You can also rent bicycle nearby to cycle at Erhai, which is very chill and relax. The staff here is very nice and friendly, she even helped me to collect my parcel which was stuck at the collection point. I love the breakfast they provided, they do different breakfast every morning. The mixian 有阿嘛的味道， and the staff even offer to make my breakfast into take away when I told her I might have to leave the next morning. Really appreciate her effort. There are two cute little fatties in this accommodation, they bark sometimes and don’t bite 😂 if you are afraid of doggo, you may let the staff know and she will put the dog away. The room is very clean and tidy, and there’s even a JBL speaker in the room for you to play your love songs. The scenery outside the floor to ceiling window is stunning! If the weather is nice, you will be able to see 苍山。 unfortunately, both days were raining when I was there. But I do appreciate the stunning view, it soothed me, my body, mind and spirits. I would definitely recommend Dali echo if you have a chance to visit Dali.

The butlers here (阿涛，店长，小刚） are very warm, caring and friendly, making you feel like you’re at home. The housekeeping team is also very meticulous and organised in their daily housekeeping. MMaya170The location of the hotel is great, close to many places in the ancient city, good restaurants and bars, souvenir shops etc. It is also a walking distance from the 3 pagodas. The manager of the hotel is very helpful and responsive, and help us with everything we needed. Breakfast was very tasty and diversed! The room for 3 wasn’t very spacious, and one of the beds was tough. Furthermore, the room on the 3rd floor was too close to the laundry and gathering area of other tourists. Nevertheless we enjoyed the place and would recommend staying there because of the location, the hospitality and the superb breakfast.
