"I requested a non-smoking room, but upon check-in, the room had a noticeable smoking smell, which was unpleasant for my young child. Additionally, the front desk did not walk us through the smart room system, and I had to go back down to the reception for assistance with turning on the air conditioning. The service and attitude of the staff were not very accommodating.
The breakfast offered limited choices, and I hope they can improve and provide more options. The hotel is not as close to the airport as I expected, and reaching the property involves passing through a narrow lane.
Overall, I can't comment further as I only used the hotel as a resting place after arriving late at night."

(I’ve attached a picture of the famous beef roti stall located just at the hotel doorstep. Can go at 8am, no need to queue)
✔️ Walking distance to Shuncheng Mosque – A beautiful and historic mosque located nearby. It was a blessing to be able to walk there easily for prayers.
✔️ Self-service laundry available – This was such a lifesaver during my trip, especially after exploring Yunnan. Clean clothes without any hassle!
The staff were warm and helpful, the room was very comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring Kunming. Highly recommended for both families and Muslim travelers looking for convenience and comfort."

"I like this hotel because they provides airport transfers. During our stay there, the rooms was clean and nice. In the toilet there is no bidet tap which I found it a bit inconvenient. However, the morning breakfast was superbly delicious. I prefer the fried rice and the mixed vegetables. It was a spacious dining hall and on that morning I notice so many guests having their breakfast with friends and family."

"I had a very comfortable stay at the hotel. The staff was very helpful. My room had a slight problem with the shower on the second day but the staff were able to solve it quickly. The location is a little bit far from Kunming Old Street and commercial areas, but it worked out alright for me. The staff had kindly informed me that there might be noise from the nearby KTV at night and offered a different room on a higher floor if that was a problem for me, but I wanted a room specifically with a bathtub so I stayed on the 5th floor. There was a little bit of noise on my second night but the hotel thoughtfully provides earplugs in the room, though the noise wasn’t loud enough for me to need them. The bathtub was amazing and the room was overall a great value for the money!"

"Good location, about 10min walk to the railway station which gives peace of mind that we will reach the station without hiccup. Upgraded our room from Comfy Queen room (28sqm) to Queen room (40sqm). Room was clean and spacious. Room service excellent – they came within minutes when reported that TV remote couldn’t work, or asked for extra amenities. Breakfast exceeded my expectation – quite a wide range of food items, even a live station of noodle soup. We were there at 7.40am and nearly couldn’t get a table; but turnaround was fast as we noticed many ate quite fast and left quickly, probably to catch their train. Only thing to note is the lift – while there were four lifts, two were shared with other hotels and commercial units in the same building hence need to give a bit of waiting time to get into a lift."

"Very friendly family-run simple hotel. The squatty -potty and shower are in the same space a snot was pristine (and supplied with toilet paper). The bed is comfortable and there was ample charging spots available in our room. The space is small but functional. The night food vendors are just two blocks away. If walking from Kunming south railway, head out the west exit and turn left, then walk up the hill — it’s just about a 20 minute walk with luggage (though it is on a back street so have your map ready!)"

Ttravelbug123Great airport hotel. Awesome rooms, beautifully designed and have everything that you need and more ! I appreciate the free airport shuttle which operates every half an hour from 4am to 2pm. You do need to let the front desk know you need this service in advanced as seats on the car is limited. This service is very handy especially when I have elderly parents travelling with me. Great shout out to the driver who was very helpful with the luggage and he was friendly and polite. Reception had prepared packed breakfast for us which was very thoughtful, eggs, bread and milk, however our milk were all confiscated at the airport custom as we forgot we could not bring liquid across. This is something for guests to take note of and maybe the hotel can help remind guests about this. I have to highlight a few quirks of this place though that can hopefully improve the experience. There is a steep flight of stairs between the main road and the hotel building, it's a weird urban design if you ask me but this seems to be out of the hotel's control. That means if you have heavy luggages and elderly with waking issues to manage, this is problematic. Reception pointed to us a slop along the steep flight of stairs but is just as steep that is might as well not exist in the first place. We asked if reception has anyone to help, perhaps a porter or a young lad around but there was none. They were also not very helpful in suggesting alternatives ways of getting into the hotel. We realised ourselves much later there is a back door on ground level although it could mean a longer walk around to get to that. but it's better than not providing any suggestions. While I don't expect the ladies at the reception to help with the heavy luggages, I thought the management could have some protocols to help guests who have issues with the steep flight of stairways. In 21st century, it is important to consider inclusivity design of service offering to achieve a more international level of standards. Just a suggestion for management consideration. Overall, it's a good hotel with awesome hardware, but the service training could be better. The reception at the front is great at doing the standard basics but could do with some improvement of being a little more sympathetic to guests reaching out for support and help. I think this hotel has great potential to compete with other big international brand names with a little more service improvements. Ibis is just literally next door but I hope Chinese brands will thrive even more in the near future. I will keep a look out for this Chinese chain in the future when visiting China ! :)

Choices available for set breakfast. Overall value for money. Just across Nanping street, and available local food all near the hotel. Very convenient and highly recommended. As hotel is near old town, cars can't drive up to the hotel, so do contact hotel ahead of time so they can direct you where your driver can stop the car and they will come out to help you with your luggages, just less than 2 min.

The staff are beyond friendly, kind and helpful. They really go out of their way to help (except for making an effort to contact the WiFi providers).
I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could do a lot of my business by having access to printing facilities within the Hotel. The swimming pool is quite nice and the staff member was really friendly, giving me a swimming cap when I didn't have. They brought me towels and water to drink.
The hotel robot is always a great convenience when it comes to deliveries as it brings the delivery to your room.
Breakfast is pretty good just like any top hotel.
I usually repeat my stays here.

PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note:
1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival.
2. This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room.
3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised.
We hope the above experience helps improve what is a decent hotel providing good value for money.
